one thing is to ask guys not to take full unopened bottles off the plane. another thing is to ask guys not to sip from a new bottle and throw 90% in the trash. to say you can't even have a bottle of water... wow.

Sounds like UAL is following the lead of Ryanair in the UK. Pilots at Ryanair have to actually buy their own soft drinks onboard like the rest of the passengers. Not sure whether water would cost anything but it likely comes straight from the lav - so, you know the pilots aren't asking for it on those flights...

Next thing you know UAL will use seats that can't recline to avoid fixing broken seats (Ryanair has done that too to reduce costs). Ryanair is very profitable, so, UAL will likely follow suit... The downhill slide continues.

Got the same memo about 1997 at ASA.

The next morning, there were about 200 empty water bottles stacked neatly in front of the chief pilot's door.

Everybody do a google on Deep Vein Thrombosis, and imagine the lawsuits from the first case at UAL....

If two waters for the flight crew made the drink cart rum empty, than someone is doing some really poor planning.

Next comes the memo to pee in the bottle once completely empty so as to save on lav fluid.

I am speechless.

Mabe they can do like Eastern did and only wash the left side of the airplane, since that is the only one the pax see.
