After reading the NMB findings it makes me think that an effort by ASA pilots to pursue a single carrier petition w/SKYW would likely fail.

A Double Standard. The NMB ruled in favor of the Mesa Pilots to put the Freedom, Mesa and CCAIR pilots under one Collective bargaining agreement. So, why don't they do this with *************************S and TSA? Like I said, it's a double standard, depends on what day of the week you can catch them.

No matter how you look at it, anyone who would go work for *************************S is guilty of attempting to undercut all their peers in the industry... simply for the glory of flying 20 more people around. I have seen your names up on lists in many crew rooms. Just know that you are not very highly regarded by your peers.

What's absurd about this is that this decision came out WHILE TSA pilots are being made to fly Ho-Jet routes due to the Ho-Jet pilots damaging one of their planes. How many other airlines arbitrarily fly routes for each other out of the goodness of their hearts, even though they are not 'one carrier'?!

What did they do to it?

Is the NMB appointed by the president?

Not sure but the NMB is definitely influenced heavily by the White House. That's why nothing has gone well for labor since Clinton left office. Of course one could argue that Clinton freeing up trade with China was disastrous for many Americans. I read an interesting thing about Clinton in a book for an Ethics class. Apparently Wal-Mart's "Buy American" campaign in the 1980's resulted from a meeting Bill Clinton had with fellow his fellow Arkansas resident Sam Walton. There was a very interesting deocumentary on PBS last night about trade with China and the role Wal-Mart has played.

WOW. Talk about thread hijack.

Back to your originally scheduled programming. Anyone have any thoughts on how the TSA single carrier petition could set ASA pilots up for failure if they try to force integration with SkyWest?

Yep. The President appoints 3 members to the NMB, and the Senate must "advise and consent." Two of the members are from the President's own party, and the third must come from the opposition party. Not that it makes any difference. Neither the Democrats nor the Republicans give a crap about us or any other labor group. Just look at NAFTA.
