I couldn't believe it, I interviewed last week and only 3 out the the 24 interviewed had the type. Also, I stayed at the same hotel the new hire class was at and the next day they all looked a little "tired" from the welcome reception. hahahaha! Looked like good ol' SWA fun! One of the guys suggested aquiring a taste for Wild Turkey shots.

Starting the week of Christmas we are starting a class a week for 5 weeks. That's 100 to 120 pilots in 5 weeks!!!!!! That's not counting the classes between now and them.

I don't know what's going on but I'd say Gary Kelly is gonna find some more airplanes from somewhere. Pretty exciting times.

Exciting or desperate times

Gary may be feeling the pressure of semi-poor earnings and has decided it is time to grow or shrink. Let's pump up the pilot pipeline and aircraft orders so we can reduce capital expenditures. Luv SWA but am a bit concerned given weak 3rd qtr results, hopefully just a short term hiccup. Herc

What's pay while in training?
