With such a high local tax burden, I'm sure that the employer will take responsibility for those taxes, otherwise no one will want to go.
They don't want any ASA pilots to go. They would love to fill those slots with SKYW pilots and their 50-seat rate. (can we still joke about that?)
The aircraft aren't coming from our fleet. They are already in Asia.

The rates will not be Skywest or ASA rates. They will be Mekong rates and Mekong work rules. Can you say Walmart?
I'd imagine that a Vietnam Airlines ATR captain base pay rate would be comparable to Mekong rates.
According to http://www.pilotjobsnetwork.com/jobs/Vietnam_Airlines the base is 8,400 a month.
Wow that is a lot higher than I would've guessed.
