. Why would they do it now? They can just adjust the rate without becoming contractually obligated to another company.

How can jetblue adjust our rates downward? I only sign PEAs with pay raises, and I'm not willing to sign one with a pay cut.

Scope relief is a grand conspiracy? Who can argue with someone with that core belief.

who can argue against that. I think it was pretty clear after the Comair strike. What was the solution? More regionals to limit their power. And then came alter egos to limit unions power even more. Do you think that's just a coincidence? no conspiracy, It's called business.

If the later statement is true I can only assume that the company already believes that a union is a sure thing. Otherwise those kind of threats will surely lead to a successful union drive. I wish I had faith that a union would prevent such an event but history dictates otherwise.

I thought you said you have no protections. That sounds better then letting 50% of the voters decide if you should take a pay cut.

You mean pilots.

Your current agreement allows unlimited domestic codesharing on new routes. You really have no clue do you? This is without your evil ALPA.

No we dont have any protections. The company can just take the a/c and give them to an alter ego carrier. There is no negotiating, or compromise. Management holds all the cards and we take what they give.

But they haven't and there is probably a reason for that. If you start this battle it could cause what you fear. Is that not a possibility?

SWA is the exception to the rule and that's why I would consider an in house union, even at a greater cost. I think it would be hard to see airbus to airbus comparison but it's all the other benefits that really add up and would only come by the subsidies provided by a regional. Closer expectations could be comparing JB to Airtran. They had ALPA. Why weren't they compensated like a legacy?

You really need to dig into the metrics. JetBlue pilots CASM used to only be 35% below industry average. With recent contract gains at unionized carriers that gap is increasing. Hawaiian, UAL,DAL pilots all make more then JetBlue pilots with better benefits. Alaska pilots have slightly better pay and much much better benefits then Blujet. Curiously enough the previous mentioned carriers are all represented by ALPA.

You really don't know what you don't know. Guys like you flame ALPA for everything. First I hear you regional pukes (I was one too) claim ALPA has a dictatorial relationship with those it represents and now you say it has not intervened enough. This is the thing with ALPA, you have representation yet you are granted autonomy.

If you work for JetBlue try and think about what is best for your fellow pilot not what happened at your fee for departure second tier airline. No voters not only hurt themselves but are a detriment to the industry as a whole.
