Keeping up

I must say, the hardest working pilots I have flown with at Options were all over the age of 50. There were some that would work literally for months with out coming home, and when I flew with them, they never turned down a trip. In fact, they would call and ask for a trip if they had to sit for a day. Also, some of the sharpest I've flown with were in their 20's. Age is not a factor. My father is still current in jets at 70+. I hope to do as well.

I just read an article about a guy that just got done with MD-11 class at FedEx on Dec 15 and he is 27 years old. I always thought that most of these majors would not look at you if you were not at least in your mid 30's. I am now starting to realize that in this business, age is nothing but a number. What a way to start your career.....more power to him!!!!

i was flying the A300 at Fedex at 26...it was no big deal...if you have the time and you obviously(at fdx) have to know somebody, you can get the job...age is just that...many have gotten hired at fedex in their 20s...in my newhire class in 95 of the 12 i think 3 of us were in our twenties..the average age is in the mid 30s....age is but a number....but i will turn 37 later this year and i am starting to see 40 around the corner...THAT SUCKS!!!!
