Flylow -- I will be fine. My concern is actually for you guys. Remember in business somene is "always tring to build a better mousetrap". If you do not stay at the top of you game, adapt and improve and instead rest on your laurels, the business will perish.

There are a ton of good companies out there in this business. Netjets needs to maintain a high level of customer service.

If you knew who I was, you'd retract that statement.

The reality of the matter is that I fly, they manage.

Yes... I hope things continue to change as much as they need to to satisfy Berkshire's need for ROI. Yes, Owners are a big part of that. I do everything I can to insure Ownership enjoyment with their NetJets experience. I see way more smiles on them today than I ever did in 2004.

I'm just not sure what you are looking for here from a worker bee.

Don't buy this at all and doubt that you actually heard these comments.
I find it easy to believe these comments, especially if you've ever flown for one of the many shady 135 operators.

Pretty lame and pretentious on your part. If this was the case, why would NetJets ever use charter to pick up the slack? You are saying that NetJets is willing to sacrifice safety for money in these cases.
NetJets is very careful who they let fly their supplemental lift. NJA doesn't just flip open the yellow pages and dial...

Are you saying that your sister company, EJM which is a charter operation, isn't worth a hoot?
EJM is very reputable, that's never been questioned. They operate to the same standards as NetJets does to the best of my knowledge. I know a crew who's GIV is on the EJM certificate.

Where are you going to work if NetJets decides they no longer require your services?
Wherever he can get hired, just like the 495 of us already on the street.

BTW, where did most of the current crewmembers come from before they went to work at NetJets.
In my new hire class- Regional, Major Airline, Marine Corps, Charter, Corporate and a Float Plane guy. What's your point ?
 
His point inferred that any charter operator was inferior to NetJets when it came to safety. Dumping on all charter operators who support NetJet's business isn't very bright.

I do not disagree with your comments as they further the point that their are many good charter providers out there and employ excellent crewmembers. The fact is that most of the a/c are owned by companies (not the charter company) who hand picked their crewmembers who are also flying the charter trips.

Picking on a bad operators is fine, but the point was that all charter operators are bad.

Okay, I made this video today just for ya'll...Enjoy! Me and the cube in under 3 minutes. And I only spent 4.5 hours making the fricken video and uploading it and dealing with copyright issues and audio swapping to get legal and...never mind.

I have always said that at the interview to hire Schedulers for the fracs .. they ought to just get a class of about 30 people and toss them all a Rubik's Cube. That ought to be the test.

Then stage 2. To the survivors of the first Rubik's cube ... toss out cubes that have the colors change on individual squares every 10 minutes. then see who can keep re-solving the puzzle for an 8 hour shift. :laugh:
 
Truth be told the sign in the potato is the best bit. I needed a way to show it was me and not some "grabbed" video off the web. A little sign in a potato fit the bill!

GF -- I have toured Columbus twice and spoken with schedulers both times. Your analogy about solving Rubic's cube, and changing the colors oten is a perfect analogy. Now make make the cube 30x30x30 instead of 3x3x3 and you can see why maximunm efficiency can never be achieved.

For all of the doubters, charter is not the other option. WIth the $$ I send to Columbus each year, if I get 2-3 others, we can have a reat plane, complete (and safe) control over our flight department, and have 25 hrs per year supplemental lift form NJ. That is my alternative, and I donot need to charter out.

Yeah, but what plane will you buy? What do you do when it's down for maint? What do you do when all 3 of you want to use it at the same time? What do you do when you show up to leave and the pilot is fatigued or sick? What do you do when you need a bigger plane? How do you ensure safe control over your flight dept?
