I can trust the company to keep their end of the deal - they have a proven track record. They have never threatened my job - I can't say the same for pilots anymore. There is no telling how far you will go to get your demands... that is the real threat to this company.

Your not only biting THE hand that feeds you - your biting all the hands that feed you. For what? So you can upgrade your Explorer for Navigator? In everyone of your examples it's interesting you always use STARTING pay. Wonder why. Is it you've been here long enough to realized when you put your time in the rewards will eventually come? Isn't that how our parents did it? Not until our generation did anyone expect to live like their parents curent level during our first 10 years of career. We are the "got to have it NOW!" generation - "or else I'll make you give it to me". Nice - let's teach our kids that and see where it gets them.

Again - fair pay is good. Good pay is better. Threatening the existence of the company you work for - is bad. Don't play the victim - it's not working. You work for a company that has unique challenges and don't forget - they are STILL new at this - we're still learning to walk. You expected what? Southwest? Delta? COTA? Don't bother getting a job there - you will still be miserable.

No, I'm trying to get that new Vette for my mid-life crisis. I have over thirty years of professional flying under my belt, grown children who have watched us struggle every step of the way. They know that aviation is a tough biz and have wisely choosen other careers.
How's all that wait for the rewards working out for Polaroid employees. If you don't stand up and demand what you want DON'T ever expect a company to give it to you. That is real life, union or no union.
The pilots are not trying to hurt anyone, they are demanding a fair piece of the profits that are being made on our backs. If you're happy with your wages, that's great.
Netjets has used cheap labor to build the brand and control the market, time to share the wealth.

We aren't talking Salary
dsptchrNJA, Maybe you should read the entire thread. Actually, I WAS talking about salary (As was the quote I responded to). The post was in reference to the "expert" that was requested. He was to compile data for the salary comparisons. Data that has already been compiled from many different sources. The union didn't refuse a third party, they refused THAT third party, based on his total lack of experience in this type of business. And as you chose to ignore in my last post, the "third party" ADMITTED he had a "limited understanding" of the fractional ownership model.

At my interview back in Feb. the HR people told us the NetJets USA only operation was turning a 40%+ profit margin. The Europe ops were dragging that down. They also said selling off half the core fleet was a big mistake and the company was looking for replacement planes.

Corporate finance is a shell game. This is especially true if some or all of the company's vendors are owned by the parent company.

Who knows what FSI is "charging" NJA? It could be way above market rates. Who knows what kind of deal NJA has with the FBO's for service, fuel, etc.?

There could be money shuffled around everywhere that ends up back in NJ's pockets.

If the NLRB/NMB releases NJA to self help, they are entitled to it. That's the deal. Yes, a lot of "non-combatants" will be caught in the line of fire. That's the risk you take when working at a unionized company. A lot of NJA pilots will have their personal finances devastated during a prolonged strike. That's another risk you take. But, sometimes you have to take risks to gain a reward. That is the position NJA pilots are in now.

Managements at unionized companies engage in this type of brinksmanship all the time. Sometimes they REALLY can't afford to pay the union contracts but the union doesn't believe them because they have lied in the past. Most of the time, both groups walk up to the precipice before backing away with a deal both sides can live with. Sometimes one group or the other will step over the edge.TC

Try a 1988 F-150 and a 1993 Dodge Caravan.

the hand has not been feeding us... WE have been subsidizing "the hand".

It was reported in Aviation International News that Netjets made 191 MILLION dollars last year.

Actually, last year was our best year and we made 45 million. But I understand if we are looking at different numbers.

Maybe the dispatcher should get off the internet and get my flight plan filed to a closed airport with minimum fuel through level five and six thunderstorms with an alternate that has notams with nav aids decommissioned. That is a pretty typical of a release.

I am at home. We have better things to do at work even if we could get on this site.

Your cutting remarks are reduced to slander. We work hard to provide a quality product and take pride in our work.

But the FOM doesn't require your flight plan be filed by a dispatcher. Next time you come in - just call the dispatcher and let him know you want to file all your flights for the day. See - now everyone's happy.

This thread is very telling about the NJA "culture".

No one .........respects........... no one. It starts at the top and works it's way all the way down to the bottom!

That is how NetJets has always operated and our "new guy" has just takend it to the next level.

NetJets will always be a "AAA Ball-club" until there is a culture change. When I was in company re-current one of our high-level managers (DM) tried to compare us to FedEx. Hahaha.
