What a snot-nosed big shot.

Are you afraid of the Big White Hankerchief chasing you down? I sure hope so.
My intentions earlier in writing that fly a jet was too easy, wasn't meant in a pompous manner!

I didn't mean it in a "holy'er then thou" sense. It's just your instrument skills get a little rusty over time always going "Direct to", and always flying an autopilot. I enjoy being out in the weather, and the elements, and theres not much of that going on up at FL450. Sure theres a lot of different skills in flying jets, but I'm ready to get back in the elements, do lots of real instrument flying again, and fly something different.

Big White Hankercief? WTF? lol

So seriously, anyone else have anything constructive to add here?

User 998 - The shorts is a great airplane to get back into real instrument flying. We dont have an autopilot, and at the altitudes we fly, we spend a lot of time in the weather. Once you learn to trim the airplane, its an easy stick. I love hand flying again.

They are dangerous. They had a midair recently with a couple of their cowboy pilots showing off to their girlfriends. I recommend you look elsewhere.

What you say angers me. You really need stop speaking about things you know nothing about.

Partly True

Hightower, i flew for ACC and I still fly a shorts, and what you said is mostly true. The problem however is that there are a few of the planes that you just cannot trim. N334AC the "face plane" is really nice to fly. I think its 938ma? i think that was terrible maybe it was 937

Driver,

your right, some of these planes are bastards, it's those damn 330's. Some will trim for level flight with like 2 degrees pitch up and a 3 degree bank. crazy stuff. 360's not so much, they are quite a bit easier. I'm on the 300, good airplane.

I never got to meet ya but I heard a lot about you. Hope Alaska is treating you well.

I hope all is well for ACC

I appreciate that...heard a lot about me...that could easily go for good or bad. Alaska is getting me a lot of flight time, but i work a lot and we do things that the shorts was not made to do...check out the other ACC thread on here...i got some pictures from yesterday and today...pretty crazy stuff

wow, that was so mature! Thank God they hire people like you, with all that class and intelligence
Never claimed to have any class or intelligence. I do know how to take a joke, and make one every now and then. Most guys at ACC.

BTW, I dont think ACC has changed those mins (1500tt,yada yada) in years. When times were hard at the regionals, they didnt have a problem getting people with those times. They do hire lower time guys these days from what i've seen. Don't even need any class! Good luck

First off, Ready2fly, your an idiot, you probably failed our interview process and are bitter now, time to move on buddy.

As for ACC, it is a good company to work for. There are two branches of flying that we do, scheduled and charter. The scheduled runs are for UPS and DHL, and typically fly Mon. thru Fri nights. Check out our website, www.aircar.com for a route map. On the charter side of things, we work a 19 on, 9 off schedule. I work on the charter side and enjoy the variety of flying that I get, but it is a long time to be away from home. Quite a few married pilots because they don't want to relocate their families, and because of the 9 days off in a row. You can typically make more money on charter than on scheduled.

Most of the pilots you meet enjoy the company and are friendly people. We have jumpseat agreements with a lot of airlines including, NWA, US Air, SWA, Midwest, and others. Ground school is usually 4 - 5 weeks. Will probably sit reserve for a little while.

Hope that helps

What about JetBlue? Can we beg a ride?

Thanks,
The Pig

The 330 is easy (ier?) to trim than a 360. Maybe its been too long since i've flown a 360 tho..... Ahhh. Who needs all those fancy electronics you guys have anyhow!

What are ACC's current bases? I have checked out the route map, but I do not think it reflects the current bases. I was at CHO today on a cross country and asked the ground controller if ACC was still there. He said they have been out of there for awhile. Just curious.

The ACC Shorts have been coming through AVL a lot and parking over night. I've been meaning to get out there and bump into you guys but I just quit the instructing job I had a AVL due to bankruptness so I'm rarely there anymore. I met one guy from GSP a while back and he said good things about the company. My resume has been in for a couple weeks now.

Sorry that ready2fly's sorry ass had to taint this thread. He's an infamous flamebaiter that I assume the moderator dealt with. Thanks Eagleflip if you did. BTW, his avatar is definetly not him and he has nothing to do with that Seminole. He stole that picture of "Captain Bob," the infamous FLX C210 video pilot.

Good luck McJohn...I think you'll like the Shorts...fun plane to fly!

Eric

Congrats man! When's your interview?

not gonna flame an operator in the open.......its just that you can do better

I am sure people can...however....for somebody with 500 hours...I really do not see how you can.

A chance to fly a turbine over 12,500lbs, health insurance, 401k, flex spending, fast upgrades , lots of j/s agreements, two crew environment...yeah this company has it's downsides also. But so does every other outfit out there.

I am not asking you to flame ACC . Just curious why you don't like it. I am sure you can convey that without flaming. Or at least post what you think are better alternatives to ACC.

LOL! Wankel...

I was gonna respond about the relief tube and turbulence but...never mind...
