Well said 30west.... It was a horrible thing to learn of.. the video was impossible to comprehend.. heartfelt wishes to the families losses.. RIP guys

I wish I didn't watch the video. Awfull. Poor guys. RIP.

I bet they were not covered by war zone insurance, and didn't get the extra DOD money for landing in war zone.

Vision airlines pilots had to sue the company to get that money. I have a feeling the company will not give a crap about families , waiting for time to calm everything down, and go to the bank and cash that plane insurance policy. I really hope the families will sue the hell out of owner.

I have no idea who owns this operation but I hope they take care of the families first. History has not been kind to operations such as this in the past after having a accident. You can bet the feds will be crawling all over them from sunup to sundown.

My thoughts and prayers for those aviators. I'm sure they fought the good fight to the end.

Let's hope the CVR doesn't wind up in the wrong hands.

Disturbing beyond belief. This is the proof that every pilot who straps on a plane is truly stepping into the arena, all others are just spectators in the stands.
Be safe guys.....

Jeez man.....terrible video. I remember flying the 747 and I was always so leary of taking off at 833,000 pounds, or within a couple thousand pounds.......and climbing out that first 1,000 feet its such a fine line as it is with either building speed nicely and total stagnation of acceleration. Slightest difference in pitch meant solo much......unlike the corporate jets I fly.

I can't imagine 4-5 tons of cargo suddenly slamming back to the tail section.

Just crazy........

Not that it really matters, the effect is the same.

I'm pretty sure there's no hard data on exactly what was being carried although it seems to be it was MRAPs.

In which case, I believe they start out around 14 tons and go up from there.

RIP.
