This just in. A gulfstream about to make emergency landing in PDX. News says it belongs to Nike. CNN is so excited about this. Reserve has made me excited about anything.

If they had bought a falcon this wouldn't have been a problem.

DUCK

Rotflmao!!!!!

D,
You've just woke up the sleeping G-V bear. But I agree:D .
Good luck to the crew and pax, I'm hoping (like everyone) for a good outcome.

on FOX news the "expert" they are talking to said that the GV probly as 20,000 gallons of jet fuel to burn off! wow, so at 6.7lbs per gallon thats 134,000lbs of fuel! that GV is a haus.

Also she says the when she flys on the airlines she always flys with a smokehood in her carry on.

That was Mary Schiavo talking she's no expert.

Do you think these new anchors ever watch something like this later on and see how stupid they sound?

Also where the h#ll do they find these "experts" that have a private license and all of a sudden are experts on every aircraft ever built?

Wow now this is entertainment

Where were they headed? Out of the country with a pink slip? Not a good idea

wow, now FOX news inhouse private pilot John Scott is analizing the GV main gear schematic! This guy is like the McGuyver of Fox moring news!!

Bob Guilford eh, Who the "F" is this idiot? I would love to do a dawn pancake flying with him, "expert" mary schavio and John scott.

John scott, just recomended that they pump the fuel out of the right wing and into the left wing to prevent a fire when the wing scrapes. totaly Mcguyver this guy is undervalued

They're reporting that, in conjunction with Gulfstream support, they were able to get the gear down.

Guess the support contract didn't transfer until halfway through the flight, huh?

FYI

another thread on this, 4 pages long now

http://forums.flightinfo.com/showthread.php?t=67277

G4G5- how many low passes before fuel is an issue and they determine that no, the gear is not coming down, time to land?

(going back to other thread...)

They could go around forever the low fuel lights don't come on until around 800-900 lbs per side remain. If they had enough fuel to get to CYYZ then they will be going around for quite a while

Aircraft registered 11/03/05 expires 12/03/05. That's what they get for trying to take a 30 day pink slip registration out of the country.

The pink slip registration is good for 90 days. A telegraphic is good for 30 days and is good for international. ExpressJet uses the telegraphic all the time for 121 flying international on the newly delivered airplanes.

Is the nose gear door supposed to be up also? Looks like it is down in the pictures.

It sequences closed after the main doors have closed, sine the right main door has not closed it will remain open
