Hey NW_pilot, maybe you could start a new thread about the Pacific trip

So NW_Pilot...are you going to make Hawaii or not? You don't have to talk about it, just yes or no, is the Hawaii flight still i the future?

Yes, When it's ready it's gonna get a 12 to 20 hour test flight before next attempt.

Hmmm...

Why do you want to fly all of the good hours out of it? You only get so many good hours before you get to the bad hours where things break.

That's also an argument for early retirement. You only get so many good years before you get to the bad years where things break. :p

Special Airworhtiness Certificates do not allow additional people. Thus no CFI's.

A special airworthiness permit, or ferry permit, call be made to allow nearly anything, including the carriage of additional personnel as required crewmembers for the mission (such as carriage of an additional training pilot for an oceanic crossing), or even the use of nonrated pilots of single pilot operations in crewed aircraft.
