As I mentioned to you in the PM you sent me (gee thanks :( ) --

Your pilot group is the only one I know of that is giddy with a 5 yr FO at 47K and a 5 yr CAPT at 90K.

I know that seems like huge numbers to you but its still far below most corp guys. Many corp operators START PIC's at 120K min...FOs at 80K min.

I know, I know..."with perdiem i make".... ...whatever...

really, congrats on the raise- if you feel victorious - great for you! you won!...but in my opinion you DID get your a$$es handed to you. Thats not great money buddy, in fact, its far below average....but feels huge compared to 27K I guess...thats all that matters. Maybe now you can move out of moms place and qualify for a car loan or something. Thats real progress.

You may enjoy gloating to a regional pilot but you are still far below the average corp guy. When the Cristal headache wears off you might realize this....

But really, I suppose it all depends where you CAME from huh?

congrats!....(I guess.....)

Ouch!! The truth hurts but G200 is right!! Can't wait to see these responses lol!!

I'm going to have to agree with you on that. It did feel huge when it first hit the airwaves, but after the Sunday hangover, and you start to break it down, it doesn't feel so good.

My opinion is that the company is sitting back firing up the Cubans with $100 bills. Make them wait for four years, a couple or three low low ball offers then throw them a bone within 10% of what we probably would have caved in on anyway. Had to pay them less than 50% of what was OWED in back pay, got a 5 year (read 8-9 year ) contract, and created a monster in waiting with any new hires.

If this was a dog for them, FamilyGuy et al. would be on here screaming from the rooftops. They haven't darkened the doors of this website (I'm sure they're lurking) all week. Not even below the line.

That speaks volumes. That is what worries me with this TA.

Hey, progress is progress....

all that matters is that you feel properly compensated for your job. That brings pride and a good work atmosphere - which goes far IMHO.

Stickshaker feels huge and buff at 90K for a 5yr captain (ugh). Thats a victory for him -- but yet greater for his company - who will continue to serve the industry at these rates, make money, and send this feeble minded guy his 90K paycheck. Everyone wins. Rememeber - these numbers will be YOURS for the next 10 years (thanks Union)

anyhow....I think your management got off very very easy.

I know I have sparred with netjets guys - Diesel etc...but really - congrats. If you feel like you are now taken care of - you won.

Nothing better than having a job you truly like.

Again, congratulations!

I knew you'd see the light... Management is elated with this TA, believe me... They just bought themselves another 8 yrs. (or so) and still get away with nothing close to NBAA..

They know good and well that upgrades will be grinding to a halt and all of the bypass pay Capt.'s will do the job... On top of that they get away with hiring F.O.'s that will never make more than 47K.

I know, I know... "But we're going to have to have another 2000 pilots on the list!!!" Says who ??? Management...

90K $ucks now, imagine what 90K is 8 yrs from now?

It better... This winter's potential heating bills got me thinking of asking for a little extra raise this year.

I've been to Flightinfo rehab twice now and it still doesn't take. I really do try to just use the computer to surf the free porn sites but I just can't keep from coming back here.

(sound of slapping my arm to raise a vein...) :D TC

You sure that was your arm???;)

And since I am a number posting mood. Here are my numbers as a Hawker PIC starting year 6 next month. Maybe it doesn't seem like a lot but compare it to what we have now...

This is 7/7 schedule, base salary, staying in the Hawker for the next 7 years compared to what i would make on our current contract.

NEW PAY OLD PAY

93,200 64,188
96,400 67,560
99,600 74,496
102,800 77,604
106,000 80,796
111,909 84,300
118,078 87,996

Man oh man i lost my whole post. Arrgh

Okay i'll try again. G200 and H25B a week ago you were thinking we were crazy to take it to a strike now you think we are crazy to accept the offer? I know its not the best but it's pretty damn good.

You're job is the best in aviation for You and my job is the best for me. Me personally want I want is tons and tons of time off. That is what is my goal. More time off with my family. For that i'm willing to give up some things such as pay.

It's important to me and my family to have the WHOLE summer off. What I usually do is take from June 1st to september 1st off. That's what is important to me.

I'm sure with your jobs you've had to give up something to get something else.

Can't we just agree to disagree?

Sorry man, couldn't resist picking on you...

I've said this before on here and I still believe it. You will have to sit down and weigh the costs of NOT ratifying the TA because of XYZ or taking the money and go on with your life.

How much will we gain by voting it down, taking a delay and losing leverage for the busy holiday snowbird shuffle. Would we gain 23-50k (Base salary plus 20k in retro, roughly for the 5-7 yr bubble) more.

It is all in what you have the stomach to fight for. It still intrigues me that there is no one on here spinning for the company. Too much champagne flowing in Woodbridge perhaps?

Hey Bud,

Like I said, congrats if you feel you have won. Thats good.

I was not even going to comment other than "good for you!" until one of your tools (stickshaker) brought me into it all giddy about 90K after 5-10 years with the company.....he wanted to show me!, rub my face in the big bucks TA you guys fought for  .

so....dikshaker really WANTED me to comment - and I did.

IMHO, you guys got played, and played real bad.

But again, you seem happy, and thats ALL that matters. I fully agree that liking your job and having a lot of time off is FAR more important than money. I fly approx. 300 hrs a year, average 10-15 days a month, and get lots of vacation....I dont make huge money at all but wouldn't trade more pay for less QOL. We agree on that....I think thats healthy for families, works for me, etc...

however, I could never work for Netjet wages, sorry, not your old wages OR your new wages....not unless I had NO other choice -- then I would aim to leave aviation. But thats just me.

Its your job, not mine - glad to hear it works well for you.

any progress is progress.

g200 commenting and then adding insults is what got you the answer from stickshaker.

Don't say good for you then spit on my face.

It's patronizing.

Sounds like you must have a pretty good job if our payscale looks so low to you. Care to share your pay? Ours is out in the open for all to see.
