Bottom line is that capitalism depends on competition- when mergers happen- measures do need to happen to keep a competitive environment- as others said- what carrier would you rather see those slots go to? Republic?

It is true....Delta did not take a single dime from the government during bankruptcy. Unless you are advocating not having a legal system this not a government thing like you are trying to imply.

I wonder how much of this "Agreement" the Airlines actually had a say in.......Looks like another Government attempt to help prop up Southwest.

Can't you just let us have our niche of getting the kids to LBB to see Grandma once a year for $39. Why all the haters!

I can't wait until we start Newark to San Juan!!! WooHoo. I'm a little too "white" for Old Town in San Juan but DANG I've had some good times there. It'll be fun to do it again being 20 years smarter - if you know what I mean!

Also, I thought the "brilliance" in the SWA business model was to avoid the "busy" city airports in favor of the outlying airports as to avoid delays and crowds...etc. Doesn't seem to be the model any longer....
