From todays "Trim Tab" company publication:

"As previously stated, SILs are intended to address temporary surpluses and do not mean that displacements or, for that matter, furloughs are imminent. In fact, even though next summer’s schedule is still a work in progress, there is a high probability that we will need additional pilots in 2009."

Depending on what happens with the Flows and recalls we are looking to start with 100-150 as early as Q1.

That is what I have heard. A few guys on by-pass furlough have decided to come back too.
They will tinker with the numbers as they get those guys back.
I guess if you want to come here, go to that Job fair in ORD.
They will have some good people there, and from what I understand they are looking.

I hear that they are going to start an airline within an airline. The new hires are purely for the new version of Song. It will be called "Lame."

The funny part of that Tanker is you're prly right. Bloody airline management just seems to have a history of repeating itself. Even The General would concede that point!

Yeah, Song was "interesting", but it was also fun. The stews were new, and they all seemed fresh compared to the senior mamas left after the furloughs of 2001. I think it was a good try to combat Jetblue and LiveTV at the time, but two airlines in one probably isn't a good idea anymore. It was a good try....

Bye Bye--General Lee

Should junior NWA guys go the job fair? Maybe they will be able to get a better seniority number by going to Delta than by using their existing number.

I wrote a letter to our esteemed CO about you guys hiring. he stated in a letter to us the other day about our furloughs that he was actively pursuing jobs for our soon to be displaced FO's (from alaska) to Korean Airlines b/c we have such a close relationship with them.

Hopefully his relationship is better w u guys and we won't have to have a side of dog taco's for our crew meal....I'm sure they taste like chicken though..:puke:

Mookie

and i can show you guys where to get some beers in ANC without getting your asses kicked....

Tough call. You might get stuck behind the Mesaba guys that NWA put on the list.

True...but it does bring up an interesting point. Would be a great topic for the interview...

"....so, seeing how you're a two-year hire at NWA, why are you willing to give up that seniority as a new-hire here at Delta..."

Well, you see, I don't take too kindly to getting poked up the bum hole, so I figure I'd hedge my bets....

Now, what would be fun to watch, and very cool I might add, is if someone were successful in taking a NWA L.O.A. and becoming a Delta new-hire. Then sit back and see where both seniority numbers shake out...

Always good to have options....

I can pretty much assure you that anyone who used the phrase "bum hole" would not be a successful interview candidate.

A better answer would be, "I would like to work for a growing airline."

hey mookie....uh, call me. I know people. Not just strippers. If you really think your gonna be furloughed....if not, go sail or ride a bike in your gay tights. hoser

I'm going to apply to the Air Force. If someone as stupid as you can continue to draw a paycheck, then its quite obvious they'll take anyone, and must be pretty desparate.

Are you actually suggesting that someone with a current seniority number on the NWA list could end up behind someone yet to be hired at Delta??

And I thought your position at the arbitration hearing was laughable.....

Why not. Appears that DALPA has all but given up scope to Anderson. Geez. How many 70 and 90 seat airplanes are operated by the so-called Delta regionals now?

70 seaters are near their cap via the scope and on the 90 seat question  there are 0. Hope that helps

And where is that large infusion of accessible cash that is enabling that growth coming from???

The cheap shots are getting old.
Not from NWA. Delta HAS been growing without NWA and would grow more without acquiring NWA.

In what, the next 15-20 years? Your own honchos have been quoted stating that "DAL would not be able to continue its growth or meet its financial obligations in the near term without NWA and the money its bringing to the game." Also NWA gives DAL the growth NOW instead of 15-20 years from now. ;) Cheers

I cant wait till this is over so we can move past all the petty back and forth stuff between both pilot groups. After Nov 20th are we going to be on the same sides guys?

Yes, yes we are. Some will be sorta mad, but yes, we will all be on the same side. And, when you guys start wearing your hats and double breasted jackets (Russian Sub Commander uniforms)---we are all going to look like some "wild and crazy guys....." ;)

Yes. Absolutely, the numbers represent that fact.

Bottom line is 15-20 years is a LONG time in this industry and regardless of what the "numbers" show anything can happen. NWA enables dal to get a jumpstart of 15-20 years thus hopefully making it a much stronger airline for ALL of us to work at. Both DAL and NWA are great airlines with great pilot groups. DAL was probably going to be a good standalone company as would have NWA. Nuff said, any other talking points are pointless and nothing more than mental masturbation.

Nov 22nd if Memory serves me correctly. Both sides agreed to this after scheduling the last arbitration session.

In most counts we are merging equal carriers. What it comes down to for us is type and gauge, that is where the SLI boils down to. We have a different opinions on this. The facts seek for themselves.
