You are missing the point. Like I said my previous messages were not completely directed at you. I don't think there is anything wrong with anonymous discussion. When I start individually calling people out by name/initials, attacking a specific group of people I will be sure to include my name. Again my previous messages were not directed at you. But if you really want my initials, FR.

hahaha -- ur funny! Serious or not that made my day...

So it would be safe to say they are also not likely for recalls? Or am I missing something? I would love nothing more than for it to be recalls or globals but the FAA list of pending TNs for globals show no FX tail #a but maybe I am looking at it wrong -- those type numbers can be confusing. For the longest time BA100s (cl30) were so dependent on different input variations to get an accurate count.

So, what are all the possibilies, both possible and stretching? Unlike notapilot I want my family prepared for both the good and bad...

The global rumor stated that someone saw a few gloabls in Flex paint with no tail number. That could be anything.

I remember flying with one of Flex's finest geriatrics, he looks at a United Express CRJ 200 and says " wow, nice global."

unclepetey "Watching some of the meetings that they have up on the bluebelly"

But do the office women stilll giggle at everything FR says at the meetings??... that kinda use to make me wanna puke.

If you're talking about the 300 pound monsters that haven't been laid by a sober man in 20 years and can't wait for another office birthday party, because its cake time, then yes, they still giggle.

Fred must feel like a rock star during these meetings.

I see that they scheduled an "all hands meeting" in august, being held at a hotel or something instead of the recent conference room meetings being taped. That makes me kinda wonder. The last time they had an all hands meeting (last december i think) they announced the first round of layoffs.

They did the meetings in-house before, to save money. I guess they no longer need to do that since the furloughs.

Get your cards in and get some protection and representation for the pilot group.
If they want, they will get rid of who they don’t like on the next round of layoffs.
Put cards in the stock lockers, mail them to crew members, Leave them in FBO’s.
Get rolling or your at the will of the people getting bonuses off the extra work of your backs.

way to go Bun. That's what we need more of. Step up and ask the man. Enough already with the rumors. You guys are all pessimists! Hell I just got an email asking for OT so I don't think furloughs are in the offing. Also one of our guys saw Globals in our colors. Put that in your pipe and smoke it!

Maybe mea culpa -- perhaps an apology on the way, but check out the new thread I just started... Sure looks to to me like the global rumor has legs...

You company is crying for help, that is why they are doing what they are doing.

They need you to stand up and form a union to save them from themselves.

Heard from a Flex crew on standby there is going to be a lot of layoffs in the operations center.
Don't know if any truth but they were yapping about this for hours.

Here's the real news for ya. It's all a pile of crap. Either S#$t happens or it does'nt. We s#$t can more people or we recall and staff Globals. It's simple speculation until the excrement hits the airconditioning. Flex pilots don't have the solidarity or the huevos to unionize, so union is a moot point. For all you nay sayers my card's been in since day one.
All we can do is wait this MF out. Until we're told it doesn't matter. Quit the BS, and start flying. Do your best, don't under any circumstance F-your buddies (ie, overtime) and hope all is well. Union or not, as pilots we can't control what happens. Look at United, old Frontier, what's happening at FLOP's and on and on. Airlines die a slow death. This will be long and drawn out...Like Cancer. This whole thread is fear mongering. I'm just calling it like I see it. Go home to your families and do the right thing, the important thing. This is simply a pay-check, it's a good one, don't get me wrong, but forget about it otherwise. Seriously, I wish the best for everyone. Especially our furloughed/s#$t-canned pilot's and staff. Come back soon. I'm doing my part, I promise. "It's a recession when your neighbor gets laid off. It's a depression when you do."
Just hold your breath and take the dive, after all, what else can you do?

"The Giggle Meetings". Your right. They giggle and laugh at everything like a sitcom with laugh and applause lights.

There is nothing funny about the state of this business so please tell me what is so funny?

I wonder if FR brought in some consultants.

"Good luck with your layoffs, all right? I hope your firings go really well."

Yeah--the new memo from FR doesn't bode especially well for the cubicle set. It promises that office staffing needs to be "right-sized."

But on a positve note, it did say that pilot staffing levels had already been addressed, or words to that effect, so maybe we are safe, at least for now. OR, maybe it was just an attempt to keep all us guys at the bottom from deciding to burn all our sick days before the axe falls.

All I know is, I've been flying more this past couple months that I have all year. So has everybody I talk to. Which makes me wonder if those figures Beaner releases each week might all be for sh1t.

Think about it. If you release a bunch of bogus metrics to make everyone think business is way off and scare them half to death, then make cuts well in excess of whatever the volume of business justifies, you look like a productivity boosting genius.

Just a thought.

Amazing, and sad, as to how far this company is going down the tubes in such a short period of time.

Many had predicted this when the Greedmeister came in - and in hindsight they were correct.

You're giving management too much credit. Do you really think they go through that much thought process just so we can feel the way they want us to? I don't think so. It is obviously clear that FGreed is doing what he does best and it is without any regard to employees except for himself. However, to his credit, the economy sucks, though making a comeback, so we really haven't seen what he is capable of doing yet because the month he stepped on property the market crashed.

I'm not a Fred Fan but, I'm curious to see what the future holds when this market turns around. He is obviously smart when it comes to cost cutting, lets see how smart he is/isn't when times are good.

Also, +++ on the cackling women in the meetings. It just absolutely amazes me at the sucking up that goes on at those meetings. As someone said earlier though, this next meeting should have a different tone now that the elephant is in the room and not out on the line.

what's the date of this next meeting and what's on the agenda? Is it just another routine "all hands meeting" with those neat graphs and such?

He won't be around long enough to find out. Look at his past track record. In his recent history he hasn't been with any company longer than 3 years.

NetJets is looking. Since I have time on my hands, and a class 1 drivers ticket, I'll rent the tractor-trailer to help Fred move to Columbus.

No charge.

I'll certainly be more courteous to him than he ever was to me.

You're getting your hopes way up if you think this economy is about to turn around. Your best hope is that we experience a jobless recovery and generally stagnant economy for the next 5-10 years. In reality, the commercial real estate crisis will come due in 8-9 months making the sub prime mess look like small beans. Sorry gentlemen. This party is just about over.

Smart when it comes to cost-cutting? Puuuullllleeeeezzzzzeeee. Any idiot can raise an axe and chop people from their jobs. It takes a smart person or operation (and one that gives a chit) to find alternative means to lower overhead, keep morale on the positive side, and continue moving forward (see NetJets). Fred Greed is none of those things. He is an old school hack that only cares about his wallet, and could care less about the people. Like another poster said - look at his history - it hasn't changed in 30 years. Flexjet and its employees are f cked while he is there. And the only thing they have to look forward to is more of the same. He will milk everyone and everything for all its worth - then bail with a few million he got off your backs. That is his history.
