884 million isn't "net"..... The net is much smaller....
Net margins in the regional business have been shrinking for the past 8 years or so as mainline carriers put the squeeze on the regionals.....
The problem is in this retarted Railroad Labor Act-it simply makes it impossible to negotiate-that is not ALPA's fault.
You ASAholes sure have alot of problems over there... What are you guys going to do when Skywest takes all of your airplanes?
Bingo (as Joe likes to say)!
And when a certain Delta VP has been lobbying the NMB that a release will damage Delta, and the NMB favors management and agrees, there you go, more dates for us, no matter that they'll be unproductive. All I can say is fly very very safely, and by the book to protect yourself.
Hoser
Have you read the scope section open issues list? Or are you like most people that don't know what the issues are, don't know who your reps are, and don't know what the industry standard is on all the issues.... but gosh darnit, you just know your pissed because.... well just because....
If it defeats ALPA and unions, then it is cheaper to transfer airplanes.... Our scope proposal doesn't prevent that...
I wonder what the SkyWest pilots are gonna do once Jerry finally decides to get rid of ASA management and merge the two airlines.
I'm glad we have representation and will have a voice during those integration discussions. The SkyWest pilots will have no such voice without ALPA.
Joe, I love you man. And you're absolutely write (you like that one? Write?) I'm undereducated and completely ignorant to all issues. I'm not an ALPA cheerleader as you call it, but right now they are the only ones screaming for anything in my favor. (in the near future anyway) I'm sorry, except for the contract in 90 days with superior freakin everything. But, back to the point, you're right. Myself and most of the rest of my ignorant co-workers blindly follow anything ALPA tells us just because. It's amazing I can even dress myself. Guess that's why I wear a uniform! So, tell me what I should really do next, not something vague like putting ALPAs feat to the fire, but real stuff.....where too? And does anyone in the world besides you and LJ actually have a clue?
The vote will fail, and it really is irrelevant to our situation..... For some reason people think the whipsaw will stop if Skywest becomes ALPA.....
I hope that you are right joe. I just don't think they will vote it in. I jump seat on them everyweek and with the feeling I get from them, they just aren't ready for the union.
I wouldn't be so quick to make that assumption fellas. I fly with alot of folks who are tired of the status quo around skw. personnaly, I'm just gonna wait for the vote.

We're going to have settled our contract by then. We'll have a scope clause to protect us. Then we'll push for a DOH merger and the Skywest pilots will get steamrolled since they'll have no representation. I hope you 3 year CRJ-900 captains enjoy being my FO. Tool.
Lame.
Really lame.
Please tell me you're kidding.
It's a surprise to ALPA.... They said this was going to be it... A release was the only choice.... Oh wait that was the last round of negotiations...
Not a surprise to some of us......
Well, since that part has not been TA'd, I'm holding out hope. I will not vote for any TA that does not include protection from what I believe Skywest/Delta is planning after the contract gets signed, which is retire ASA 200's and replace them with a Skywest (or Pinnacle/Mesa) 900. They are set up in ATL now, and given the choice of giving replacement airframes to ASA or Skywest....JA will pick Skywest everyday and twice on Sunday! WE MUST PROTECT OUR JOBS!
The lack of critical thinking skills in some of these posts are downright scary.
All of you who are calling for the destruction of our customer service numbers, slowing down the operation, etc, are simply incentivizing JA to move ASA aircraft to SW. All of you who refuse to adhere to the fuel savings program are increasing operating costs and reducing profitability. Thus all you are doing is validating management's argument that they can't afford the compensation levels we are asking for. You call for improvements in scope but create precisely the environment that requires scope and incentivizes JA to break the union. In short, you are playing right into JA's hands - he must be laughing his ass off reading these posts.

The Jepps boy returns. I wonder if he was wearing his silly leather hat while writing this latest post.
BW, the problem with you is that while informed and accurate in many respects, you lack basic social skills required to back up you assesment of the topic. Therefore, you lose respect of your peers.
I lost respect for you after one week of your basic indoc class.
Then the fictional, Jepps article written in V1, were you made it clear that you believe you are far superior to all others.
Then your letter in the V files.
Need I say more about your social skills?
ok I will
You see Brian, you may find it cool within yourself, to be described as an "equal oportunity a$$hole" , but you have no friends, and deep down in your over worked brain you really do care what people think of you.
See, all these people you have around you are thinking to themselves, "dang I wish he'd shut the Fuc$ up!", yet your thinking your talking to a friend who values your opinion.
But I digress.
