Surprise Surprise:uzi:

NMB SENDS ASA, ALPA BACK TO NEGOTIATING TABLE
The National Mediation Board (NMB) today informed ASA of its
decision to schedule further negotiations between ASA and
ALPA. Meetings will begin on Wednesday, Sept. 26. A complete
meeting schedule is in the process of being finalized.
ASA has continued to voice our belief that further negotiation
can gain a contract that is fair to ASA pilots while ensuring the
Company’s long-term viability. It is still ASA’s belief that a
release from negotiations is not in the best interests of our pilots,
the Company, or our customers.
ASA President Bryan LaBrecque and Vice President of Flight
Operations Charlie Tutt, again will attend the sessions with the
intent of reaching agreement on the few sections that remain
open.

It's a surprise to ALPA.... They said this was going to be it... A release was the only choice.... Oh wait that was the last round of negotiations...

Not a surprise to some of us......

I just know we'll get released THIS time!

Sorry, just wanted to get in early.

YEAH #3 on a 5 page thread!!!

Now, If we can find all of the guys that are still taxiing at V1 and calling over and over for gates, giving suggestions, and flying broken planes and SLAP THEM IN THE F&*@ING FACE!!! maybe we can apply a little extra pressure before the 26th.

Isn't this fairly short notice? Seems like every other time a date was announced, it was a month or more away.

Why the short notice? Was it because of the supposed meetings over the last two weeks?

OpsCheck, do you seriously think that will make a difference. The CNC and MEC promised us in the lounge that a release was going to happen, the NMB was fed up with the company. Now it is clear the NMB thinks ALPA is asking for too much. We can blame the NMB all day long but the SW ALPA vote is not going to happen. Not even close. Get this contract done now. SW will wait out the vote and then transfer away.

I agree, doing nothing hasn't worked so far! How about something else!

....and PS.

why freakin bother?????? What possibly could be different this time than the big "four day" session a few short weeks ago? Nothing! Is ASA/Skywest/Delta really more willng to move now than they were last time? No! And is ALPA willng to give up our demands for better pay and the most important thing -- scope protection from Skywest eliminating our jobs? NO WAY!

So, why are we even bothering with this farce? The NMB seems determined to keep dragging it out, and as many have predicted, the will be no release!

79%,
We aren't asking for any scope that is worth a darn... We've already given up in the scope area....

Well, since that part has not been TA'd, I'm holding out hope. I will not vote for any TA that does not include protection from what I believe Skywest/Delta is planning after the contract gets signed, which is retire ASA 200's and replace them with a Skywest (or Pinnacle/Mesa) 900. They are set up in ATL now, and given the choice of giving replacement airframes to ASA or Skywest....JA will pick Skywest everyday and twice on Sunday! WE MUST PROTECT OUR JOBS!

I really hate to say this AGAIN, but.....told ya' so.

Now. Would you like to hear how this set of dates is going to go?????

Go read the ALPA proposal on scope.... It is largely worthless.... We should be going for a single list, but there are National politics that are preventing it....

I have a few words.

1)ALPA should show up with a willingness to see what the NMB has to say, and what the COMPANY has to offer. ALPA has said several times THIS WEEK that they walked out because they already went below where we should have, in an effort to show good faith to the NMB.

WALK OUT in the first hour if nothing comes to the table with SERIOUS movement!

2) As stated by someone else. THE CNC IS DOING THERE JOB THE BEST THEY CAN FOR THE TEAM!

IT IS UP TO THE REST OF THE TEAM TO DO THEIR PART TOO, NOW GET OUT THERE AND DO IT!!!!!!!

Folks, this is similar to Payton Manning standing up and calling out his defense for not doing their part, AS A TEAM!!!!!

I dont know how better it could be described in a way to get the point across.

The RLA and the NMB are a F'n joke, and we are being made to look like fools. A F'n FARSE!!!

It's (waaaayyyyy past) time for this pilot group to step up to the plate.

New dates !!!! ?????

I'm pissed! and so should approx. 1699 other pilots.

Medeco

WE ARE NOT GETTING RELEASED !!! WE told the union that back in what March, April, and MAY !!!

They said they had a plan B ? What is it?

I think we may have to go down the same road Airtran just went through and just get some new blood in there!!

More dates and no release- what more does ALPA need to figure this out. THERE WILL BE NO CONTRACT AND NO RELEASE after this as well. As far as the team- I'm still flying with boat loads of people that want to run on time and don't give a s&^t. This whole process is a joke, and same with the people on both sides that are a part of it.

The only reason for this "revelation" is so that the board can save face by appearing to be "doing something" about our problem. They know nothing will result of these negotiations, but that doesn't matter. They're doing their part.

This contract will not be settled until after the Skywest ALPA vote is over. Period.

Meanwhile, pilots, remember, SAFETY FIRST!!!!!
