Fly da plane,
Yeah, $175 sucks for a crashpad. It's that high because all the USA 3000 guys we had just got displaced out of MKE. We now have 3 ME pilots, looking for 3 more which would bring the price down to $135. All the beds are there already, and so is the furniture. When we got this crashpad, we picked a fairly nice apartment complex because we are all MD80 reserve, meaning lots of time will be spent there.

May 18 MD80 class

Greetings fellow travelers. I'm from the april 01 DC9 class... According to the powers that be, I either show up for the 80 class on May 18 or resign. Was hoping to put off recall a wee bit longer. On the other hand, totally stoked to be back to airline flying.

WOOHOO......LIVING THE DREAM....LOL

See ya'll soon.

Welcome back, you will be very happy with training, top-notch training department. Great instructors and checkairmen, very well designed transition courses.

Everyone in my class is very happy they’re back including myself of course.

Good luck

Hiring in 2005?

Is it really possible for Midwest to actually need to hire in the near future? That would be pretty amazing. For such a long time it has seemed like they've been painfully slow bringing pilots back. Big Congrats to everyone recalled and hope it works out great for everyone.

Now what are the upgrade times? Just kidding! The main focus right now should just be the survival of the company. Need to be "cash neutral" at the end of the year right? Is that even posssible at this point? I hope so. It seems like they're trying hard to save money (hedging fuel a bit, being more aggressive, outsourcing mx, rampers, etc).

On a somewhat related note, anyone know of how many retirements Midwest will have in the next 5 to 10 years?

Well get ready boys (and girls), it looks like the March 01 class will be wiped out as well. Took the mandatory (or resign) recall for May 18th MD80 class (I too was hoping to make it through summer but it will be nice to get back in the game). There was one person left to fill the class after I got the call this morning. If that doesn't wipe out our class then the June recalls will. Good luck.

you mean they are not out- sourcing the jobs to the syx folks?;) congrats people!

Mr. EXCESS,

Glad to hear you are going back to a respectable job. Make sure you take the Blue Caddy to Milwaukee. You can run a cash and carry Limo service on your reserve days.

Wish I was joining you guys on May 18th. The MD-80 would be fun to be on, but had to through in the towel. I was very surprised they went through the senority list so fast. I'll have to stick to my Learjet for a few more years.

Have one for me at the Landmark or two if you like.

Hi!

If you are on a reserve day, what is the callout time(s-some carriers have long and short call reserve)?

Also, do you ever sit airport reserve? If so how often?

Thanks a bunch!

Cliff
