Voting yes meant getting CCAIR back to work. The continued existence of mesa and air midwest. Removing the threat of freedom airlines. and INDUSRY LEADING IRON CLAD SCOPE.

Again I ask you Mesa guys to ask any Eagle guy that voted yes on their POS contract whether it was worth it to have the 'iron clad scope' they supposidly got. You notice how Eagle had 15 ERJ's transfered directly to Trans States earlier this year? Some awesome scope!
JO will walk all the f*ck over your scope if it is advantageous to HIS bank account. In the meantime you'll be stuck with the POS pay and work rules that you let be rammed up your arse. Mesa guys that voted yes definetly need a serious education in the history of this profession and management tactics.

america west tops out at 115$ per hour at year 15 for the 757 captain, I dont hear anyone bitching about them.

JetDriven, you know why no one is bitching about AWA, because they just turned down a B.S. contract proposal. The continue to hold the line for a fair contract even in the face of a poor economy. They choose no to fold like a deck cards, something that you mesa boys have down cold. I know it's hard for you to except what you and the other 78% have done to the industry but at some point you will. Next time use the KY jelly first, this way it won't hurt soo much!!!

For christs sake, at least READ THE POST BEFORE YOU REPLY!!! He's not even at Mesa anymore - therefore DIDN'T EVEN VOTE! I'll tell you what, though, I am STILL here at MESA, and I *DID* VOTE YES. And, you know what? Given the circumstances I'd do it again, today, right now.

I am still at Mesa until my ground school. You want to know who it is? Too bad. Why are you always interested in what other people are doing. Worry about your own da mn selves. I could have voted no, I knew I was in the pool at another airline and I have a side biz that makes me more every month than FO pay at Mesa!! If anybody at Mesa could have had a f-this attitude and vote no for the hell of it it was *ME*.. I wasnt scared to vote no! I have a life outside of aviation! I make more money when I am not flying! A no vote and Mesa in the tank would have been a raise for me.

I voted yes because I wanted to see my friends get jobs and have four waiting for a ground school at Mesa right now. The nerve some of you have with your holier than thou pontificating. You guys got no class! What kind of pilots are you anyway? Where is the professionalism?

I would rather quit the airlines than work for any of the regionals. Especially Comair. Give the mesa bashing a rest. You are no different in the eyes of your mainline pilots. What you rush to accuse Mesa of yourselves are also guilty of. Your own posts condemn you, your RJDC is a joke. You bite the hand that feeds you. You trash ALPA do you think you will ever get on at an ALPA carrier? Especially you vocal ones. They know who you are. i'd be pissed at Mesa too if I was you. GTFOH.

The scope was a good deal because the language is as clear as day. If you are right you are right. I hope Orenstien violates the scope. I would love to see him get sued into the s#it house.

I got better things to do than argue with you all. Preacher man says, "Your sin ALWAYS looks worse on someone else"! Hipocrites! All of you. Bashing mesa for what?! This is the pot calling the kettle black!

Sorry got_paranoia, I was only asking. Remember the Message Board called FLIGHT"INFO".com!!!!

You know nothing.........try this on for size, you are a 10,12 or 15 yr. capt. at a regional making decent money(CCAir) and now you are bought(MESA) and told you will make 4yr. pay.As a kid you can start over, but as a adult with obligations under your belt this is pretty hard to do.Yes a job is better than nothing, but this is close to nothing. Some will probably have to get second jobs just to survive. This was a fine way for ALPA to treat it's senior brothers and sisters.

OK, I'll Bite

The Mesa folks (me) keep getting a beating for our contract.

We took improvements in every section except minimum bid, but we keep getting acused of lowering the bar.

So I'll bite.

Tell me, specifically, without the usual RHETORIC, what would be an acceptable contract in the eyes of Whiskey Driver, and a few of the other most prominent Mesa Bashers.

And, more importantly, tell me how you think we could have achieved it. Again, no BS, no generalizations...please, tell me very specifically and very realistically how you could have done it better? Remember, not just you, you've got to have 1,300 pilots supporting you and keeping things unified.

I'm interested in your responses. Maybe we did screw up....but for those who would criticize us, I ask you to tell us how you would have done it better. But please, consider these facts:

Code share partners in bankruptcy, one with govt. loans
Alter-Ego taking flying on a daily basis, more jets on the horizon, and no shortage of fuc$ing pieces of $hit pilots agreeing to work for them (Freedom)
CCAir shut down, 142 pilots out of work
Mediator not willing to release us for self-help
Wet-lease deal set up for MidAtlantic, others
Economy in the toilet, furloughs at many airlines, including regionals

I'm not trying to justify our vote in any way as I truly believe that's our business, not yours. The common response is that "our managment has complained that Mesa is undercutting us and now we need concessions" and I would offer that according to your own logic, you should be able to "negotiate" whatever you want, regardless of other factors. I mean folks sure have no problem beating Mesa up, yet every condition I posted up above was true....

SO, tell me, in all honesty, how we could have done better? Maybe your advice can help us.....

And again..NO BULL$HIT and NO RHETORIC.....

Ok San Juan since you did ask for me in your post.

1st. You guys should have never allowed a whipsaw to be used as a bargining tool. I am sure you are aware of the republic deal now, because the mind set is if it worked for mesa it will work for us.

2nd. You should have demanded that ALL FREEDOM PILOTS BE LET GO AS A RESULT OF SIGNING THE CONTRACT. That message alone would have been heard and felt around the world that any pilot willing to work for a company thru an alter ego would be placing his own career at risk.

3rd. Demand what ACA, Skywest and us are earning to fly the same equipment.

4th. Tell USair that there is no super seniority everyone starts at the bottom. When times change again and the hiring starts will you be able to go to USAir with your seniority and make that years pay???? He11 no??

If you don't think that these actions have had an effect on other carriers take a look at the new "lets start an alter ego" game plan. I see that my old company TSA has now been backed into a corner with this J4J super seniority. It's great for furloughed USairways guys but it's not a two way street. When they get called home they ain't going to be taking you with them.

I know that a lot has been said against mesa and that you guys feel that you have made improvments, but what good are they if they are still below industry standard for the same type a/c. I have heard comments from you guys like "it was either this or unemployment" and "am I supposed to lose my job for you guys with good contracts". Remember the needs of the many out weigh the needs of the few.

I hope that I answered as you asked, without the BS.

AWA makes about 60% of Industry average. Nobody is bitcing about their contract. We make about 80-85% of Industry average. the contract was NOT concessionary, we just did not get as big of increase as we wanted. The result of us voteing no would be 1000 Freedom pilots and 1000 mesa guys out of work. not to mention 150 CCAir guys unemployed. you dont get it do you.?
