Doesn't Mesa STILL call in their times?

NOPE. Mesa has been the best on-time performer for every single one of the last 13 months. During that entire time (and longer) our times have been called by ACARS. Sorry to ruin it for ya, but its legit. Mesa pilots get the job done, like it or not.

Let's have a lil fun and compare:

Mesa Airlines currently operates 77 aircraft with over 395 daily system departures to 87 cities, 33 states, Mexico and the District of Columbia.

SkyWest Inc.
- approximately 3,990 daily departures and a fleet of approximately 722 regional aircraft.

Yea sure is easy to pad the stats and declare to be the best with ONLY 77 aircraft. How many aircraft is Mesa losing in the next year from the fleet? Everyone knows it's only a matter of time before SkyWest Inc grows in PHX, and rumored to start usairways flying in clt. Plus that 900 contract had no guarantees to be renewed. Besides comparing Mesa to any big regionals that have core ops in the busiest hubs and still declare Mesa the "best" is laughable. Can u take your "best" ratings and get more flying and better wages from Orstein? Yea right.

It's all relative. SWA operates more flights and they have a better ontime than SKYW. Explain that one ?

SKYW can have the broke a$$ 200 PHX flying with crappy APU's, your customers will appreciate it this summer

The 900 contract is in force till 2015 with 3 one year options. The flying is here to say.

Wages. Full XCLD PAY, block or better leg by leg, full line gurntee. Our scope clause is worth it's weight. No whipsawing against other pilots groups. ( if that day shall come )

SWA whole operation is based on avoiding the congested airports, and not flying a hub/spoke operation... That a good enough explanation for ya?

So they could get paid closer to their worth on the planes left for them to fly. This leverage would not exist if people didn't fly 100 seat transcon jets for 25-35k/yr MAX.

I said the JUNIOR pilot has been doing this for five years. And by the way, its NOT something I was bragging about! You think all those guys are happy about that? And I know other airlines are/have been in the same situation. By the way, most of the FOs were once Captains, too. Again... NOT bragging and its nothing new... it sucks getting downgraded. But you have to admit that experience is worth something. In this case, I think its a part of the reason for the performance.

Man, its so amazing how defensive people get. This thread was not about contracts, "stealing" business from other carriers, or claiming that Mesa was the best company to work with. Someone posts that Mesa is recognized for performing well, and a bunch of you all cry about it. Kinda reminds me of my nephew when he was little... when he would throw a tantrum when his older sister would open her birthday present. He just couldnt STAND that it wasnt his turn to have a prize. Oh, but HE WAS THREE.

Actually, if SKYW is running 3900 daily flts, that's more that SWA. We are only running around 3400 daily flts.

Yep, SWA's entire operation is geared around avoiding ORD. I can't think of a congested airport that SWA doesn't fly to aside from O'Hare. You've figured it out.

In case you haven't noticed, SWA is morphing more and more into a hubbed carrier that you're more likely to connect somewhere instead of just point-to-point.

It does not matter if you fly into a congested hub or not.
The time is a historical block. Just in case, let me give you an example.
ASA flys from ATL-AGS... it takes however many min?
They have done this flight for the last 30 years..... It is blocked for that length.
Now if they go over that block..... they are late.
