I thought everyone would like to see this memo regarding our Freedom operation. I would like to personally thank everyone who has done a truly incredible job in the face of a very difficult situation with Delta. It is truly a shame that our relationship has devolved to lawsuits and accusations, given what it had been when we were the only carrier that I am aware of to have actually increased flying during Delta’s bankruptcy. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

All the best,

Jonathan Ornstein

Jonathan,

In response to your request for an overview of the Freedom operation I have pulled together some numbers I think you will find interesting. Since our operation was moved from JFK to CVG in May, Delta operating numbers have improved significantly and have returned to the same levels we experienced while the operation was based in Orlando and Atlanta. Despite Delta’s claims to the contrary, this data confirms our belief that our scores and performance were impacted solely by the JFK operating environment and not by the integrity of our operations. The level of performance is a real tribute to our people, who have continued to act professionally in the face of the very difficult situation with Delta. The following is a summary of Freedom’s June thru December Performance.

Compared to all Delta Connection carriers during this period we finished:

§ #1 in Controllable Completion Factor

§ #1 in Departures within 0 minutes

§ #1 in Arrivals within 14 minutes

Also noteworthy are Freedom’s scores in Delta’s frequent flyer surveys (ISM) metrics for the most recent period available Q3, 2009.

§ #1 Overall Experience with flight

§ #1 Likelihood of Purchasing a Ticket in the Future

§ #2 Professionalism of FA’s

It is interesting to note, that in what is generally considered the most important survey question, “Overall Experience with Flight”, we scored highest of all carriers (which included carriers outside of the Delta Connection program) and, in fact, higher than Delta Mainline.

The attached document has the raw data as provided by Delta. Please let me know if you have any questions.

So JO wrote a letter to himself?? Like the FA we had a ALG who filled 100 or so comment cards using pax names with comments about herself.

I guess DAL just made it up then???? I worked along side you guys while I was at CMR, I know who is telling the truth.

FREEDUMB OPERATES 96 FLIGHTS A DAY OUT OF FREAKING CVG WHICH IS A GHOST TOWN!!!! GATE SPACE IS A NON-ISSUE!!!! DELAYS ARE NON-EXISTENT!!!!!

Compare that now, Rene, to ASA which operates 875 flights a day, mostly out of ATL! Pinnacle's 798 flights a day, Skywest and Mesaba at 475 flights, and Comair's 415 flights! You are not comparing apples to apples here. Please pass that along to Mr. Ornstein!

WHAT A JOKE!!!!

They will compare freedoms numbers out of JFK for a year to Comairs numbers over a year and get what they need to fight in court

Pretty easy to do when you're the lowest-bidder by undercutting the competition.

You mean it's not because of the great product Freedom provides? It has nothing to do with the Freedom crews and their ability to push out on time, and arrive at the destination airport on their dispatch release?

Do you receive any raises or bonuses for all this??

Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and again.

Looking at those UAX numbers...It looks like RP is the Rockstar, except for bags...i would not have guessed that.
It's all about context. Rockstar status is cake when you run 51 flights under the UAX code.

That reminds me:

Looking at the posted numbers, OO is more UA, than UA. Not to mention that OO has over 52% of the UAX operation.

WHAT A JOKE!!!!

I am afraid you are missing the point entirely. When Mesa operated more flights out of JFK, and gave up slots to Delta mainline, Delta ( according to the federal judge (acted in bad faith by cancelling the contract). Now that they are back at number one, it is because they (we) are in CVG.

How do you explain inflight performance?

You folks just cannot accept the fact that Mesa's product quality is competitive. I fly the line and I honestly can tell you I see this every day. Although there are fewer flights on Delta. Mesa still flies more than 300 flights per day and although its still early in February we have been nearly perfect so far.

I know I am a one person bandwagon at the moment but history will prove me right. Durng the last year Mesa has made huge improvements and its not just because of CVG.

Go Colts.

Get ACARS and then we'll see what the truth really is. Without ACARS, everyone is "on-time".

Please explain to me how Acars impacts A-14 when the times are reported by Delta people?

Please explain to me how Acars impacts completion factor?

Please explain to me how Acars impacts in flight service of frequest flyer perception of value?

The reality is that Mesa has improved and is continuing to improve. Incidentally, the inflight surveys oN UAL called UP scores have improved by 300% year over year. I guess that is also because of no acars?

You my friend are in denial, but I cannot figure out why?

Then why did you not have numbers like this in JFK, ATL etc.. Your performance was terrible when compared to other carriers. You get in CVG where it's easier to operate and you claim Mesa is the best. Get real rene..

I flew the line in JFK on the ERJ and I can tell you why we didn't have good numbers in JFK. Because Delta's Deice plan there was to cancel all connection flights. During the winter of 07/08 (the one in question with the litigation) if there was any threat of a snowstorm we would find almost our entire schedule whipped clean due to Delta commanded cancellations the day prior, so that mainline could get out on time to their int'l destinations. That's all fine and good but don't expect us to be resposible for those in our completion factor requirements. Fast forward to the winter of 08/09, F8 refused the Delta commanded cancelations which resulted in a complete mess for Delta which is why we got shuffled to CVG and Comair put in our place there. Our performance was fine in MCO, fine in ATL, sucked in JFK and is now again fine in CVG....see the pattern

I'll tell you this rene from a pax standpoint who knows what's up....

Last year I airlined home on UA flights ASE-DEN-BHM. ASE-DEN Skywest, DEN-BHM on you guys. The SkyWest crews, very professional, friendly, clean, well spoken, well groomed (I'm talking cabin crews here, flight crews are flight crews in my book). Cabin appearance? Clean, well lit, well maintained, very few wear scratches in the paint, appeared to be well maintained from a pax standpoint. In flight service? What you would expect on a short leg.

Mesa flight? Inbound aircraft late, went to Starbucks with the flight crew. Good guys, professional, not the spiky hair type. Cabin crew? One looked like she came out of the hood, the other had some definite porn star qualities. With a slight beer buzz, possibly doable. Neither were intelligable on the PA. Cabin appearance? Grimy. Hadn't been cleaned in God knows how long, I felt like I needed a shower halfway through that 2 hour hell. Loose fittings rattled like a baby toy during the taxi, brakes sounded like an overloaded 18 wheeler trying to stop in a gigantic litter box full of angry cats. In flight service? What I would have expected on the ASE-DEN leg. Very little, even fewer smiles. I might add the galley hag in the back kept the lav locked until a parent threatened to let his little boy piss in the galley. I thought that was pretty funny..... It wasn't MEL'ed either, just an FA who felt like it had to be locked if the seatbelt sign was on. Seems to be the norm on Mesa..

I'm no fan of SkyWest, but you guys have a long way to go before much in that "memo" is true. Nothing against Mesa crews. For many years they busted hump to get me to work and home. I've also run across more than one professional and well demeanored Mesa FA. Just seems like my last experience as a "paying" passenger is more the norm than not.

I'd also love to see one of those Delta comment card things you speak of. I've been medallion level of some sort for the last 2 years and have yet to see one.
