The illegals don't want to come here because Obama has messed up the economy so badly. They're not as stupid as Obama supporters. We added a bunch of border agents when nobody wants in.

The history of “Fast and Furious” is a little different that what you portrayed. It was a very small operation under the Bush administration and was shut down completely in 2007 when the Mexican government failed to arrest the culprits that had been identified. In October of 2009, the program was restarted on a much larger scale and it blew up. Today, the Democrats in Congress are threatening to support the Republicans in contempt hearings of the idiot Holder, who was in charge when things went sour.

The Mayor of New York was originally a Democrat, switched to the Republican Party, and eventual turned independent. He is a nut.

Advisors urged Obama to not pursue the health bill, but he just had to do it for Teddy. Personally, I’m in favor of some form of national healthcare, but he should have been focused the economy with competent advisors. If the Supreme Court comes out with a negative ruling on the healthcare bill…it speaks volumes of Obama’s competency to run this country.

Why do Obama supporters always want to blame someone else for their candidates’ failings? He's been in the saddle for three and half years and...we have a weaker economy, a more divided Congress, more lies coming from both political parties, 8+% unemployment for 40 something months, flight activity for business jets in the tank...and no hope if this joker, who thinks "the private sector is doing fine", is reelected.

It's more than a good effort–I presented facts, not rhetoric. Downwind challenged someone to say it wasn't accurate, so I just stepped up to the plate. The point is that there is no grand conspiracy of Democrats to control, let alone micromanage, everyone's daily lives. In fact, the Patriot Act–passed under the urging of the Bush Administration–has presented the most recent and imminent danger to our freedom. But hardly anyone ever mentions that.

As for Holder, he's an idiot. What else can I say? Every village (and presidential administration) has one.

I disagree that Obama's competency to run this country rests on the legality of the healthcare bill. If anything, his main lack of competency is his inability to stick to his guns, as well as the speed and overreach of his compromising. He wanted a single-payer healthcare bill, but caved in and compromised way too much. "Medicare for all" would have been a much easier sell to the American people versus a healthcare bill that has to be read to be understood (God forbid most Americans actually reading something to understand it. Simple one-liners always sway the American public–"repeal the death tax," "weapons of mass destruction," etc, etc). Even worse, he was aloof for much of the time on deficit reduction talks–he should have pushed hard for a balance of cost reductions and tax increases. Instead, he let the partisans in Congress enact a poison pill (sequestration) and just stood by watching as they actually swallowed it.

I don't blame anyone else for Obama's failings. However, the blow up of our economy did happen before he was in office, and anyone who thought that whoever was elected president in late 2008 could fix it in one term is nothing but delusional. Yes, the damage done was that great.

In any case, we're now yet again left with two less-than-perfect presidential candidates, and voters must now vote for the lesser of two evils. I'm still undecided, but I'm finding it really hard to support someone who believes (and has publicly said so) that "corporations are people, my friend." I want to live in America, not America Inc.

Business is the engine that drives this country. There is no denying that.
 
OK, Downwind, I'll tell you one thing that's 100% wrong in your rant: "They want to regulate the amount of Coca-Cola you can have." Congress has not told you or anyone else how much soda you can have. A very misguided New York City mayor and city council is trying to do this, but last time I checked they don't control Congress. So what you said is absolutely false.

As for "they want to tell you what kind of light bulb you can have," this bill was passed in 2007 with support from both parties (House 264-163, Senate 65-27), as well as industry, and was signed into law by President Bush. So it's blatantly false to project it as a Democrat plot to take control of you and the rest of America. Anyways, there's nothing stopping you from going out and buying enough incandescent bulbs to last you your entire lifetime.

Meanwhile, the "Fast and Furious" operation was started under the Bush Administration. Yes, there were epic blunders under both the Bush and Obama Administration over this, but it's no plot to arm your so-called "paramilitary" that wants to invade America. In any case, it's going to take much, much more than a couple hundred Mexican thugs with handguns to take over this country.

As far as illegals crossing the border, they're now crossing in record numbers–as in that I mean record lows. According to CBP, border crossings have decreased by 58 percent since 2008. Also, between 2004 and 2011, the number of border guards has doubled to almost 22,000. So Congress certainly hasn't been doing nothing about illegal border crossings. In fact, they've been doing more about it in the past few years than at any other time in U.S. history.

And let me end with the health care mandate, which was originally a Republican idea meant to enforce "individual accountability." It's also the same mandate that was passed in the Massachusetts health-care bill that was signed by then-Governor Mitt Romney, the same man who is the GOP presidential nominee that was for the individual mandate before he was against it. That's a classic definition of flip-flopper.

So much for nothing in your post being factually inaccurate...

Aero, you need to read and stop assuming. You assumed I was attacking the Democrats. I didn't, I attacked our incompetent leadership. The only direct attack on the Democrats was their insistence on legalizing illegals. Which must stop. Otherwise, you see that my disdain for our "elected" officials runs the gamut. And yes there was one reference to NYC. You can probably count the days before its presented by grape ape on a federal level.

What kills me is that you assume that criticism for today's leadership is support for yesterday's. Bush was an idiot. 9/11, attacked by Saudi men who trained in Afghanistan. Attack Iraq?!?!? Medicare part D. Thank you for another trillion in debt. Patriot Act. WTF over? Department of homeland security. Thanks for legalizing molesting little kids in public. The catholic church would be so proud.

As bad as Bush was it's hard to believe it could be worse. But it is. Only FDR and Lincoln have done more damage than King Hussein. There's a part of me that hopes Obama Care stands and he gets reelected. That way the shooting can begin much sooner and we can turn this ship around in a few short years. Otherwise, it is going to take generations to return to a federalist representative republic. And I'd put those odds at slim to none.

The united States is done. It's time to accept that and to split apart into the united States (federalist republic) and the socialist States. The politic spectrum is too extreme and divided. There is no middle ground. It is time to split the interest, divide the land, and let everyone move on under the government of their choosing. After all, we did do that once, and tried a second time. We founded this country under the belief that men have the right to choose their own government. We either still believe in those documents or we don't.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.

Out system is broke, corrupted, and unrepairable. It is time to institute new government.

So who or what do you reckon a corporatrion consists of? Who owns, manages, and works at corporations? I always figured they were a group of people, but I could be wrong. Do you view corporations as monolithic monsters existing independently from humans?
