We've heard a lot about UAL and NWA, but not much about AA. How goes it?

Furloughed about 2800.
Started slowly recalling Jan 07.
Recalling 40 per month now.
Now about 750 down the list including Sep recalls.
Acceptance rate about 33% (about the same as UAL).
Fair number taking Military Leaves of Absence.

I am about 2100 down the list.

As several Us Air guys have wrote in the majors thread, I don't know if I would go back,

I always wanted to work for AA, but being a pilot is not like it used to be. Will just have to evaluate the situation when/if the letter ever comes.

The kicker is that the labor contract is up next May. What happens after that is anyones guess, but it's pretty evident that the mood is really really ugly.

AA is increasing the recalls in October to 50. There will be 2 classes of approx 25/class. Class dates are tentatively set for Oct 3rd and 17th.

Any word on how many are turning down?
50 this month is a good sign!
Anyone out there close to a re-call? What are your thoughts what are you doing now? If they called me today I would pass but who knows down the road.

bump.

Number of calls going out for Nov class is down a lot due to military deferrals coming back after the end of the fiscal year. Continuing to bring more ground school instructors back, which is a good sign.
