So anyway no one heading up there? Yeah it's called being unemployed... And the world of regional's is a walk compared to what many part 135 guys do while flying for ******************** bag cargo companies.. sharing a rental car to an interview is a lot better than living off of $10 per diem, sharing a room at the red roof in Yip and making $12000 a year 5 years ago when I got "my shot" at being a Lear FO... Or upgrading to captain and flying with guys who are 50 and have been in the right seat for 10 years with nothing more to offer than a warm cup of coffee and a dorky smile that made me swear they had a gotten their training at Chuck-e-cheese on the space craft ride. So spare me the good luck at the regionals, trust me I've seen worse. I'll take my first scheduled days off in five years with a pay check I don't have to cash at the bank(hopefully it clears), real sim training, flight benefits, health, dental , and life insurance which I'm sure ain't the best but it's something. But most importantly I'll take a job to stay current and pay my bills. Well kinda pay my bills. Sorry about the rant but I'm not a "just happy to be here sir" guy and I know what I'm getting into. I just wanted to know if there was anyone who could help me pay for the bull ******************** car I have to rent to get to my job interview thats paying me what a managaer at Taco Bell makes. Gracias, PM me if you are.

Good luck Agreen, Hope you nail it and get back in the game!

Seriously good luck! Air Wiskey is one of the better paying regionals out there. And from the pilots I have come in contact with they seem like a great group also. Good Luck.

You'll do well here. Play your cards right and 2nd year pay you can make 45k here. Good pay? No, but not bad for a regional.

A question for all of you. We have heard both sides of the issue for flying for the regional airlines. Would you rather be flying for the airline, making "ok to good" income, and gaining valuable experience that might pay off one day.

OR

Would you prefer being on the unemployemt line living off the gov't? Mond you, the unamployment check don't last forever.

P.S.- Remember, you chose this career, it didn't choose you.

arw prolly the best regional on the east coast if not the whole ctry. if u must settle for regional flying its not a bad spot to be. future fleet plans are the only real glaring problem there.

I would be careful. Odds are the people hiring you read this website. I am sure there are only so many interviewing so I would accept that they will be able to put a face to the name on this flightinfo post with all the details it provides. That could be good or bad.

Does ARW still do the sim evaluation? If so, spend the $$$ for the sim prep...it'll be worth the cost.

you nailed it....Here really is the question, I just read on another post 99 weaks of unemployment (with the extensions) checks before they run out! OMG thats almost 2 years of 3-600 a week and you can defer the taxes until year end tax time....what is the incentive to go earn 3-400 a week and have to have a crashpad, and a car and do the commute thing???? Other than being bored.....this could be a bit of a problem to getting the economy kickstarted again....

What is the incentive? Guess that depends on your perspective... I felt like a D'Bag collecting an unemployment check and wanted to get off it as soon as I could...
