The guys in the training dept are saying we will be hiring 350 in 2012 at JB.

The check airmen at JetBlue are saying 100.... We over hired a bit in 2011, hence bid denominators where they are. As far as I know, we will be targeting 200-250 per year plus attrition for the foreseeable future.

Already Done On December 29, 2011, Spirit Airlines, Inc. entered into Amendment No. 11 to the Airbus A320 Family Purchase Agreement, by and between the Company and Airbus S.A.S. (legal successor to AVSA S.A.R.L.) dated as of May 5, 2004, and eight separate letter agreements related thereto . The Airbus Amendment represents the definitive agreement memorializing the Memorandum of Understanding, previously announced on November 15, 2011, for an order of 75 A320 family aircraft consisting of 30 of the existing aircraft model and 45 A320 NEO (New Engine Option) aircraft. These aircraft are scheduled for delivery from 2016 through 2021 and are in addition to the 31 aircraft scheduled to be delivered under the Company's existing order from 2012 through 2015.

So, Spirit will double in size in the next 3-5 years, based on scheduled
aircraft to be delivered.

If you're hired,in 5 years you will be on 5 year Captain pay at Spirit, which I have found from friends there to be about $138/hr or be a 5 year F/O at Jetblue at
about $98/hr.

It doesn't seem like a hard decision.

I would go with Spirit unless you want to work for SWA down the road, if you know what I mean.

The voice of experience.

Thats more true at the commuter airlines, where the affiliated Major
airline can move the future flying from one airline to another.

Its pretty simple math to realize that a 35 plane airline that's very profitable with over 70
firm orders, is more likely to double in size than a 200 plane airline, in the same time frame.

There are still people out there that thought Jetblue would never
grow either.

The key is getting on at the begining of the hiring cycle.

The key is living below your income/winnings. :D Gamblers know that the house always has its day.
