Just got off of the phone with some folks at USIF, the, or one of the background investigation companies that jetBlue employs as subcontractors to "clear" applicants paperwork. It appears that they have been trying, in my case, for 5 weeks to get my old employer, Boeing, to sign a DOT drug form stating that I was not a druggie while flying for them. They called me this morning and I hooked them up with my old Flight Surgeon who signed the one page and sent it back. The USIF folks then said that my package was now "complete" and were sending it to jetBlue today. Five weeks for a one pager.

Sorry for the long winded story here, but I believe that many of us have been in the same situation having this investigations firm having great difficulty in dealing with past employers.

Now the next wait begins. The one with JB having all of the data and then deciding.

Well no one has called me yet, but I thought it would be a good idea to see if my former employer has sent back the paperwork. Unfortunately, they said they never got any paperwork. It is a small company and they were on the lookout for it so I am pretty sure they did not get it. Although the background people did call my current employer about 2 weeks into phase 2 and had them fax their records. Who Knows!!

I checked with the lady that handles my company paperwork and she said she never received anything from JB. But when I checked with JB they had already received it, go figure.

Hey guys,

Just got all my paperwork cleared up with USIS (the background company) and they are forwarding my packet onto jetBlue. Here's to hoping I hear some good news.......

I received a call from the background people today. They told me that they are missing the PRIA and DOT form from the certificate holder that our company works under. I called them and they said they hadn't seen them but they could fax everything first thing in the morning. With any luck I should be done with the background check by noon. At least I have phone numbers and people to speak to now!!

Wow....does this make me the only dude who hasn't heard ANYTHING?

Man, do I feel like I'm the last one on the island of misfit toys!!!

Wait and Wait

I am with you....I have not heard anything. Who knows....but I am getting tierd of the wait.

Let's hope we hear something. My family and I could use some good news. I know they got backed up throughout the process due to the holidays and whatnot, but man! I am looking forward to the day I get to tender my resignation at my current job and move on in life.

kjkil and J3 Driver, I look forward to having a beer in Orlando with you both, looking back on this, and laughing!

KTF!

I have no doubt that we will get the call, but I sure wish the background people were a little more on the ball. To wait this long before asking for our help is a little crazy. Whats even worse is that I live in Florida and drive by the jetBlue training facility about once a week. Its killing me!!! Maybe they won't notice if I just show up to class. As far as the beer goes, I'll buy the first round!!!!!

What happened to the phone calls? It was bad enough when everyone else was getting called, but now no ones phone is ringing. One online application= free, one blue suit= $300.00, one 10 week long jetBlue stress test= priceless!!!

positive note

On a positive note when you get the call at least you will be ahead of the 200 others that interviewed on jan 11/12

Thats true! Plus I would rather be where I am today as opposed to just getting my phase 2 notification. It will happen, I think it will happen, I sure hope it happens!

Everyday is Groundhog day

I wake up every morning, sure that I will hear today.....yet nothing...If only I could stop thinking about the call!!!

I feel for you.. I was dying to get the call and just like that vk called.. I am sure you will hear something and worst case scenario lets say it take another few weeks, You will still be ahead of the near 500 people they are hiring for the rest of the year..

Reflect on all of that great flying in the n265 to pass the time

I received the call yesterday afternoon from Verna Kay. Airbus class Feb 15th. Sorry I was in shock that I didn't ask any more questions or gather any more intel.

It's all a blur other than she was real nice, asked about my wife and said I would get lots of information in email and the class date of Feb 15th sticks in my mind.... :-)

MCO here I come!!!!!

Mantry, congratulations! Another of us has escaped purgatory! All the rest of us are now one person closer to knowing when we get to take a 6 week vacation in Orlando, all expenses paid. I hear the V1 cut in the A320 sim is like an 'E' ticket ride at Disney World! Woo Hoo!

KTF, bros! And the next person who gets a call, try to get some intel on how much longer they think it will be before we all hear some good news! Thanks!

For the rest of us, I guess we'll also be looking at a Feb 15 class or later now, according to what Mantry said.

Hang tough!

Hey Everybody,
I am one of the Jan 11 12 folks who is starting the wait. All I have for past employers is the USAF and NWA. Any NWA folks out there who can tell me if NWA does a pretty quick job of turning the paperwork?
Thanks
SRT

Got the call from VK last night - also took the Airbus on Feb 15. She said my file just cleared yesterday. It seems the calls are going out a few at a time as the background checks are completed. Your call will come!

The wait is over.

VK called last night. Airbus class on 15 Feb. She mentioned that she would be calling folks over the weekend if she couldn't reach them during the day Friday. Looking forward to meeting everyone in Orlando. Best of luck to those still waiting. Cheers.

StarvingRedtail,
There are quite a few of us from nwa, they were quick to give away my information. Probably glad to get rid of us. JBLU does allow some people to start training without having the background check complete, but then it is a conditional offer until everything clears.

starving redtail, I am a former redtail and was called yesterday for a class. I think NWA got the info back within 3 weeks or so. It was another employer that slowed the process down.

I was a F/E on the 727 in my short tenure at NWA.

Hey Shamrock1 and 727,
You must be relieved to go from red to blue! So the NWA process is quick? Great! Is there anything I can do to "grease the skids"? Anyone know how quick the military/DOD/USAF process is for retirees? Who do you call to get their fire lit?
Thanks,
SRT

The Wait

Has anyone thought about calling either JBlue or USIF??? I know we keep hearing, on this board, that the calls will be coming, but how would we feel after 80 days if we were not in touch through this medium?? Just a thought.

Hang in there!!! I have been in touch with both (they needed some info). After talking to them it is apparent that USIS basically sends your paperwork out and then forgets about it. After it becomes obvious that your paperwork is not coming back they ask for your help. In my case I only had three employers two of which never received the PRIA or DOT form. One of these companies are very small an would not have lost them and the other is a well known FBO with a charter operation (50 jets and 150 pilots) yet they said they could not find their phone number (yes they are an investigation company). Have you contacted your past employers to see if your stuff had been mailed back? If it has not I would have your company fill out another one and fax it back to USIS ASAP. To be honest USIS never called me until I started sending out e-mails. I also heard that we should hear somthing this week!!

J3 thanksfor the info, the interesting thing is that I did contact my previous employers about 6 weeks ago...One returned the PRIA stuff the other had not. I asked them to send it....I recieved my copy 2 dyas later, I assume USIF got it as well....now the question is what else are they looking for? As far as hearing this week...We have heard that for the past 3 weeks....and if we look back at theprevious posts...we all thought we would hear before the holidays....As fo myself, I guess I am just anxious and don't want to be left standing without a chair...I feel like I should be proactive...yet I don't want to step on anyones toes...One more thing, who did you send e-mails out to????
