internal announcement today... no pic/turbine/weight restrictions.. helo time counts toward total.. to take effect next month..

With the changes to our First Officer minimum requirements, we will still base our selection process on competitive qualifications. As of today, candidates being offered an interview tend to have the following ranges of experience and often well above the published minimums:

* Greater than 2,000 hrs total time

* More than 1,000 hrs PIC

* Experience in aircraft utilizing "glass cockpit" technology, Flight Management System (FMS)

* Recency of flight experience considered

* 4 year college degree

AND they are counting Helicopter time now!!! Good news for us ex Army helo pilots!! Good on jetBlue!

Instead of increasing pay and benifits to stop attrition, lets lower mins and get ERU/UND CFI's who will jump at the chance for a job....Good for the 1900 drives though.

We also saw an opportunity to strengthen the pipeline of talent for our future hiring needs. JetBlue and Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and the University of North Dakota have teamed up to create an innovative partnership called the Aviation University Gateway.

There is more to the ERAU and UND program than what is posted above...I think its set up to go from the school, to a regional partner of the schools and JB's (cape air is only one as of now) then possible JB.

Feb 2nd I think...10-2 bus will pick you up at the A terminal lower level spots 26/27 every 30 min between 9 and 1. Business Causal or Uniform.

well even though the Riddle guys coming over in their uniform is a funny and also very sacrey thought....the letter says them and UND and will be given a career path and a chance at jetBlue through a regional partner....so they wont be going straight to B6.

so i dont think they will be lined up in MCO on the 2nd.....whew!

Would love to swing by on the second but I am getting married the next day, a little bit more important. When do you think the mins change will show up online so I can submit that way.

Thanks,

Avrat

yea don, the open house is usually in MCO , I am interested in going to the next one also....I am trying to find out when it is.

Anyone who wants the flyer PM with your email address and I will send it to you. Good luck. And as far as the next one we seem to be running every 2 months.

damb, wish it was not on the 2nd. Can anyone advise of the hiring plans for the remainder of the year or any other job fairs after the one on 2/2.

Thanks,

Avrat

Can anyone please provide all the contact information, i.e. phone, fax and mailing address for recruiting? I plan on submitting my resume by fax and online. Does anyone else have any suggestions?

Thanks,

Avrat

The best way is at the open house 02/02/2008 MCO Training center 10:00AM.

Submitting your information online or via an open house/job fair are really your only options. A faxed resume to recruiting would probably just end up in a circular file. As current pilots, we can't even "walk in" a person's resume to recruiting.

Showing up to an open house is my best advice. We usually hold them at least every other month. My guess is the next one will be in March. We usually hire in the spring and then slow down hiring for the summer and slowly start again in the fall. I'm sure then next open house will be posted here at some point.

Hangin in there. Our stock is **** but hangin in there. Loads are pretty good. Mgmt is starting to connect the dots in existing cities. We anxiously await the opening of T5 in JFK this year. It's goin to be a hell of a terminal.

Are the former US Airways pilots at jblue going to stay for good? Or do they have a certain amount of time to defer their recall ?

does anyone have the flyer for this job fair? I hear the mins are dropping to 2000TT but I just want to come by and get my foot in the door. I live in NYC too so JFK would be my domicile of choice. Thanks!
