......Sure.....I don't think the CEO's get to make the decisions on acquisitions. It is the BOD and shareholders. Actually, the BOD is the go to. Shareholders can only vote on the proposed merger, not whether discussions can be held. The BOD at US Air is interested, otherwise Dougy would have kept his mouth shut. CAL CEO has said they are not interested in mergers and he is the mouthpiece for the BOD. The words of the CAL CEO are just that. He can not comment one way or the other on what is taking place due to SEC requirements. He cannot comment if there are talks. He can comment if there is no desire to talk....which he did. Of course in your reality anything is possible I suppose.
