SG has a very good reputation here and I am sure he will do a great job. He has the support of the pilot group as well. He has always been good to me and everyone that I have spoken with.

Press release at internal Continental said he was going to lead Continental Connection-Cape Air, which also has an operation at our Guam Hub with ATR's. Have not heard that Continental is discontinuing this relationship but Cape Air has been very positive for CO.

Yep it's food for thought. Of course rumors fly at Cape Air (*cough* Saabs *cough*), but I for one wouldn't mind seeing more Connection flying at 9K. Maybe this is the guy to push it through.

CO Connection just started flying SAAB's out of CLE, under Regions Air to 3 cities in WV. Would not be surprised if Cape Air got larger turbo props to feed CO's operation that is growing in Boston. We have the Newark shuttle flights,IAH and CLE but the Cape Flights are great for the connections. Cape Air and Continental have a great relationship hope it works for you.

Huh? SG has o experience prior to Jetblue except for a dysfunctional anti labor RJ operator. Don't tell me...you came from the same RJ operator? Nobody knows what the pilot group thinks because there isn't one voice.

I'll be the second voice. I stand behind Scott Green. Why does he need lots of experience at a bunch of failed carriers?

Nope, I was not a comair guy...sorry.

You think Delta is a failed carrier?

Delta is going to kick our ass in the near future.
Yes, I think Delta is a failed carrier. My only thin piece of evidence is that DELTA IS IN BANKRUPCY hence the "failed" designator. If you examine the term failed it comes from the latin verb faili which was derived from the greek falie. "Failed" also is a past tense word and... (I hope I am not sounding condesending here...) ...you have made a grametical and phraseosuedocentric mistake of vast proportions! Your obvious (unintended I am sure) disreguard of the rules of wordology include the question "You think Delta is a failed carrier?" Which, of course, the answer is "yes" and then go on to conclude "Delta is going to kick our ass in the near future" as if the near future can change the past! Oh, we had fun with that one at our word put together club meeting online this morning!

I think SG is a nice guy. However, I don't think that he is qualified, experience-wise or intellectually, to be the Flt Ops VP for a major airline. I can only assume that he does all these aforementioned great things behind the scenes since I've rarely seen him or his efforts in front of the scenes.

I think we'd be better off hiring someone off the street with the qualifications and experience. Someone who isn't a puppet perpetually under the influence of the Kool-Aid.

Initially, I wasn't a big fan of DB. I changed my mind only recently after meeting him and chatting with him. I think he was in the unfortunate position of inheriting a sh!t sandwich from Mr. Bowtie. Perhaps he was let go for not sharing the Flt Ops 'vision' of our megalomaniacal CEO (low wages/crappy benefits/cost-based revenue planning). In any case, I wish him luck. God knows we're going to need it.

I've worked with megalomaniacs and I don't believe David is one. I like the guy. I don't believe he is looking to sacrifice our well-being/morale/QOL to see his dream succeed. Here's where you tell me I'm just a new guy and I will come to see the evils of a corporation...etc. etc.

All I know is I love my job, I think our company is going to do well and I look forward to someday watching a football game in JetBlue Stadium. That's right I said it. Too bad my beloved Steelers already have a brand new stadium.

Fins up,

You're spot on and I agree with you and I've been in this biz a long time.

Glad to hear it. A little sensible optimism doesn't hurt from time to time.

Wow....could you imagine on new years day

"welcome to the 2007 JetBlue bowl"
Everyone else has a bowl, so why not us?

Longhorn -- are you a jacka$$? You just practically invited JP4 to make a "cabin cleaning / toilet bowl" comment.

Nice. Go spread some ovaries on bp.com while you are at it.

Do you consider CAL a failed carrier. Been through bankruptcy twice. My money says Delta will be making more $$ than Jetblue by the end of next summer. By the way, I also consider Delta a failed carrier but, better times are ahead.

Do we need to go through this? Delta will make money off the backs of its work force. Delta will again be a winner. CAL was a failed carrier. It took Bethume to bring it back. It is now at the top of the pack. This post was in relation to a guy named Scott Green who is now the VP of flight ops at JB. My opinion is that he does not need a bunch of experience at failed carriers to make him a sharp guy. We'll see what happens.

The Bowl name would be the jetBlue "tidy bowl" in reference to your cabin cleaning expectations.

How is that?

A workforce that has pay and benefits every bit as good as Jetblue.

And your point being? I am from a failed legacy carrier. The thread is about Scott Green/Dave Bushy. If you want to pump Delta sunshine up someone's a$$ start a thread about it.

Lets make a deal Nancy. You pay my mortgage, bills and fund my retirement and will do as you ask. Next summer, Delta will be making more $$ than Jetblue. Enjoy your career.

I don't know who the joke's on concerning this post. Yeah, jb has some issues and may never be the next great airline, but Delta is gonna be making tons of money and well ... I guess, you got that TA too look forward to. Didn't the comair pilots void their TA over exactly this type of issue? Just curious.

One must always remember, however: the airlines only make money if SWA and the TSA want us to make money.
