Latest rumor. JBLU is looking for experirnced EMB170 Captains and F/O's.

Any facts out there?

Upgrades to Captain would be 1-6 months in the first year.

Is this gonna work?

You seem to have all the other answers about JB, why are you asking this one?

You have done nothing but bash and insult JB and it's pilots and people and now you appear to ask a legimate question?

Some nerve.

And another thing; I remember a thread I believe you started a week or so ago where you accused me of not being able to read and comprehend the email from JB management regarding the retraction of the work agreement. It would only make sense that if you had read that email yourself, and knew enough about it that you fly for JB as well. If you do, you know where to go to get your questions answered directly and you don't need to get them here on Flightinfo.com.

Nice try at flamebait though. Swing and a miss!

Is there such a thing at an experienced E-170 Captain?? Didnt' these planes just come into certification? I could be wrong, but this sounds fishy.

Flamer!

I would assume that its a single type with differences training as well similar to the E135 vs the E145. And truthfully from the front you really can't tell except for the extra umph during climb out and a slightly different flare to get a smooth landing.

They'd have to convince the USair Express carrier pilots to come over to JetBlue. Any chance of them hiring right into the left seat with only E145 experience?
Oh and is JetBlue getting the E190 or the E195 which has a few more seats?

I hope this isn't the start of the buy your own type rating B.S. they pull over at WN. It would not surprise me considering JetBlue's most recent money saving antics.

Buying your type rating doesn't really save WN money. Not much difference between a regular upgrade checkride and a type ride. Still I think it's kind of a dumb idea. I know many well qualified folks that would love to work for WN that don't want to buy a type. Realistically very little chance of gettting interview call without type. It's WN's call though and as long as they are flooded with good applicants I can't see them changing their policy.
The main reason I probably wouldn't buy the rating is it might effect my employment chances with other majors. If they see a 737 type and no time in the aircraft it doesn't take much brainpower to figure out you have your sights set on WN.

Then why don't you apply to WN, interview and when they say "we want to hire you..go get your type" Then you can decide (1) go a get the type so they may asign me a class date or (2) no thanks.

That is how I got here. Applied with no type they offered me a job and I accepted it and got my type. You don't need a type to apply, and its free to apply (not 50 bucks like AA, FED EX, NWA, UAL) Almost forgot, AA was 100.00 to apply. Wonder where all that money went?

Why not give it a shot? I think that is the best way to approach it...In my opinion

Get a little more experience than Ameri Flight before you shell out the cash.

Lighten up a little dude.

I know being a company "lap dog" can really stress one out!

We won the contract/agreement battle. relax!

No thanks to you or your kind.

We will address pay in about 9-12 months

I can't believe it. Well, I had hoped our interview and hiring processes weren't flawed but I can see that every now and then a worm slips through the cracks. And how dare you accuse "me and my kind" of doing nothing. You don't have a clue about anything. And who is "we"? And who will you address, the folks on Flightinfo.com? I wasn't aware that it was a battle and more importantly, why are you discussing it on this forum?

Do us all a favor, next time you feel like you are mistreated or feel like you've been short-changed at JB, take your rotten attitude and leave. You are an obvious misfit. And if you need any help leaving, let me know.

I may be a company lap dog as you say but at least I never knock any team that I am on like you have. Maybe it's time you switched teams?

P.S. Although I still have my doubts that you even work for JB (and are just some idiot heckler) but in case you do, I would encourage you to put me on your Avoid Bid.

Who are the "we" you refer to and who are "your kind"? If you are a jetblue pilot, and I have my doubts, then why try to introduce disharmony?

As someone else mentioned, complaining on a public bb is not conducive to anything and does nothing to further your cause.

As for your jabs at jetblue320, I think they are uncalled for and knowing the gent well, I further believe your perception is wrong.

Sometimes you try to distance yourself from being part of jetblue, but other times, as in this instance, you try to show you are a member of the team. Which is it?

I love it...

Well hell then, maybe he should praise ya'll for setting the bar so high and ensuring this profession will continue to "play" the employees for puppets.

Is this what you were implying?

350Driver,

How does the pay compare at AW and JBU on the bus? How does the working conditions compare?
