I got the call this morning at 11:28 from the PHX CP, just before I was about to push back on my way to IAD!!!! Could not be happier right now. Good luck to everyone and I hope to see you all in a class soon!!!!
 
Congrats to all who have gotten the call so far and welcome. You will not believe just how GREAT this place really is. For those still waiting, hang in there and good luck!!!!!!!!
 
Hopefully calls will continue for the next day or so... with so many to call and the calls divided up between the CPs it may take a while depending on each CP's schedule.

Congrats to everyone, this place is amazing and you will love it.
 
Do you think the calls..

Do you think they are done calling for today? Is today the only day they will call? I hope not..

typically the calls take 1-3 days since the CPs are doing it. about a year ago the People Department used to do the calls and they would do it all in 1 day but the CPs are busy folks and some get to their share slower than others. I bet the BWI and PHX CPs are done but no words from folks getting calls from MDW etc. so hopefully calls will continue this week, likely tommorow.
 
Do they divey up the calls based on location? So, if I live close to PHX and have not got a call, is it time to worry, or could some other CP be calling me? Anyone know how long until the letters come out after the phone calls for those who don't get accepted?

That's GREAT!!! I'll bet it almost made you want to taxi back to the gate, rip your shoulderboards off and start drinkin'. Congrats!!
 
Don't give up yet! Friends at SWA tell me that they divide the list between all of the CP's and they call when they can. The DAL cp could call you but that doesn't mean you are going to DAL. Hang in there. I hear the calls take up to a week to go out. You'll know soon. Good luck everyone!

I got the call in Aug from the chief pilot at MDW and I live pretty close to BWI. I don't think it matters. In Aug, it seemed as if the phones started ringing after most of the letters arrived - maybe things have changed? Congrats to all that got the call so far. I know the waiting is tough, but the pool is truly a great place to be.

i heard the pool was at about 100 BEFORE these calls, and some of those went to class in jan. the pool right now is light from what i understand and the folks getting called will likely be in class as part of a big 3 classes a month ramp up due in March/April/May etc. the PD can give you the specifics if you call.
 
Still waiting, checking the phone, yep it's still on...still waiting...is my phone on?? I'm going to go check....

Seriously I did hear that the board reviewed about 280 and will have to call like 85 so it could take a few days depending on how busy the CP's are. Was that my phone...

Just got the best phone call of my life @ 1316 cst. The call came from the Oakland CP. Congrats to all who have received calls and to those who are still waiting, hang in there.

The calls are continuing. Just talked to the OAK assistant CP with the great news. My quals-

2800 Turb PIC
3 types including 737
10 years at a regional
Interviewed May 04 and turned down.
Interviewed again early Nov.

Good luck to all. Do not ever, ever give up.
 
Letters

Any idea when the letters will start to hit. No phone call for me as of yet, and no letter in todays mail. I don't know how much more of this I can take
 
Anyone able to confirm or dispell that the names are divided up to the chief pilots alphabetically? As in OAK you have E-I...MDW you have J-M...

Any "W"s get a call?
 
Got the Call

Finally got "the call to continue" from the CP at Houston. Best of luck to everyone and hope to see you in a class soon!

TT - 2300 hrs.
PIC- 1300 hrs.
Interviewed: Nov. 16
 
November before december??

It looks like they are calling the november interview group now??? December yet to come i hope!!! Any truth to this logic????

perhaps they didn't even get to all the dec interviews, there was concern that they couldn't do a full DB for both Nov/Dec last week in the time they had.
 
Here's the Skinny

When I talked to the people dept. today they told me this: (I am not speaking for SWA. Just passing what I heard. If this is wrong it's all on me.)

-There is only one class in Feb vs. the three they were talking about two months ago.
-They are talking about 3 classes in March which would probably empty the pool. This could change though and isn't official.
-Class dates are awarded based on when you interviewed (ie. 8 nov interview gets to class before 15 Nov interview).
-Based on the above information classes for the Nov interviewees could start somewhere around April-June.
-After your drug test it takes about 1 month to do the background checks and then you are officially in the pool. There's no phone call. No news is good news. You can call a month after the drug test if you want to check on your status, class updates, etc.

I got the call from a dal chief pilot today.... :beer: my last name starts with a T and I live about fourty miles from bwi..........i had 5100 hrs total and 2200 hrs pic turbine when called for the interview and i have a regional airline background.....best of luck to all and congrats to those who have gotten the call!!!!!!!!
