i am happy where i am. the pay isn't the bext but i am looking for a career move to chitaqua. i don't have any bills to pay so i can still save all my pay checks. if i had to pay rent i couldn't survive.

It's awesome man, I get to escape my family which I hate, and I get paid so little they don't expect me to contribute to their bills.

The judge didn't believe me when I told him how little I make, but the pay stub proved it. My kid will get no child support.

Next best thing to being homeless.

You are actually lucky. A friend of mine's judge actually didn't believe how little he made as a regional pilot. He had this idea that all pilots make 200k a year, and figured my friend was just covering his income. So, he imputed his income as if it were 150k a year when determining child support. Didn't matter that he had W2 and tax returns to prove it.

Of course he fought it, but that was about 20k later in legal fees...

The judge was sure he was hiding his income from the IRS as well as the judge. He DID bring in his W2s and tax returns. The ex was out for much as she could get.

No, it's not that bad but $45K a year doesn't cut it in Chicago these days....at least not if you want to live off more than Ramen noodles and live in your car (like commuter FOs probably have to do)

I love my job. All I've ever wanted to do was fly. I am amazed every time my wheels come off the ground. I can't believe someone wants to pay me for something I love to do so much. I never want to do anything else except fly! This sure beats working for a living. I can't imagine sitting at a desk day after day. Or an office with no windows. I don't even mind the forever complaining passengers anymore.

I think for the most part we all enjoy getting behind the controls but it is everything else in this industry that we have a hard time with. It is hard to be happy when your wife and kids go without. Just my $0.02.
