I can tell ya,

They're not spoon feeding us in HEL that's for sure. But the instructors out here are great. Hopefully the good vibes will continue thruout the type ride.

I thought your group was done already? or are you in the 3rd class? Do you know if there is a class behind you btw? I just got my friend hired and he's in the May 8th class, which is the last one I know of for sure.

That's apples and oranges, I'm afraid. That is an in house program for Gemini aircrew members, and admitedly a great opportunity for our FE employees.
Don't expect to walk in with 300 hours in your logbook and be hired into an MD-11 seat. As far as I know the minimum time for new hires is still 3000tt. Still not sure on the PIC.

true enough on the in-House FE s, beats Furlough,

The PIC-Turbine thing is no speculation though, Zero is my number and here I am in Helsinki a week away from a type. An old fart like me is not going to UPS next week like Those guys that quit from the Jan class.

They tell us they be running classes thru the end of the year. Heard that direct from MA/BJ/Alteon et al. 6 a month. That's all they can handle at once. Some of those be DC10 guys

Actually one guy just plain old quit, flying and all.. and the other left after IOE to CAL.. UPS will not hire you with just a type, and no time.. from what I hear, a LOT of time..

Hey Fogrunner,

Do you guys still have a guy around there with the initials C. R.? He upgraded as a -10 Capt approx 4-5 years ago last I heard. He's from Canada and used to fly 1900's down south in FL some years back. Would like to say hello to him again. Pass this along to him if you know him.

Thanks

What's the policy on dead-heads? Business? Coach?

In my case, the 3 DH trips I did from MXP to MAA (to operate back in the other direction) were in Business as Fog said, due to the fact that MAA is in India. Honestly, I think if I had to DH 3 times in 1 week for 10 hours in coach I may have tendered my resignation by that last one.. it takes a lot out of me to sit in those small seats for that long.
