Yes, I believe Alitalia does have MD-11's. I think Cargo Italia is an offshoot from the main company.

Cargo Italia is a brand new stand alone cargo company with no ties to Alitalia however the commonalities consist of a few former AZ disgrunteled retired pilots that formed this new company in the attempt to pick-up the cargo business left behind from AZ when they retired the MD-11's; in fact AZ recalled the -11's back on property to return in the cargo business...aviation in Italy is just like politics you never know where the wind blows from.
