If DAL sells Comair and ASA, should the employee's keep their DOH pass privileges?

O.K. all you Delta employee's, should the Comair and ASA people keep their DOH pass privileges or not if they are sold. Does any other feeder airline give their employee's DOH for passes even though they are not wholly owned?

I say the ASA guys get to keep it but the Comair guys don't. That sound about right General? :D

It's not a flame at all. Everyone is so quick to pull a trigger around here. I have a relative that I use passes from to commute. Just wondering if my commute will get easier or not. Also wondering if this would be a precedent if they did keep them.

G.L. and CF34-3B1: I care about as much as you and the rest of my former ALPA brothers and sisters cared when the TWA pilots were screwed to the wall. Where was the careing then?

The TWA case was a tough one since American wasn't ALPA. You know that. A non-ALPA carrier can do whatever they want. What could we have done? Not much.

If you're using passes for business you're not only flaming, you're violating the rules. Maybe you and your "relative" should both lose your passes, and that wouldn't be a precedent.

I thought commuting was considered personal use. Don't companies claim that everyone is responsible to be in their base and we can't write off commuting expenses because according to the IRS we are not required to commute. I'll stop using my pass privledges if I have to, but does anyone really want me knocking on the front door with a jumpseat form when there are 50 open seat in the back and I have privledges on the airline? Is it just ok for the employee to use them for commuting and not for the people on their privledges? I figured my wife could commute on line if she wanted to work in a city we don't live in even though she doesn't work in the industry but if her boss asked her to show up in a third city she would be in violation of the policy.
 
I am geussing that we would revert to the old system. Buy passes for $25? I think it was. I can't imagine they would let us keep the doh. But that, like our immanent sale, is speculation.
 
When I was at ASA we were 25% owned by DAL, and all we got were ID 90's.

Yes, CAL for ExpressJet....but only until 2007. When CAL sold us off , the agreement allows ExpressJet employess to keep their CAL pass privileges based on DOH until the end of the capacity purchase agreement. At that time, according to XJT management, pass travel with CAL will be negotiated "in line with similar market practices" in the airline industry.
 
Commuting to work is personal use.....no violations there!!

Besides, at the rate these commuters are trying to spread the flying around, those people get the best privileges. I think Chitaco gets Usair, Delta and UAL passes.......correct me if I'm wrong!!
 
Well, the passes do go both ways. If ASA/Comair don't get to keep their status at DAL, then neither do the DAL guys keep theirs at ASA/Comair. And since there is a significant amount of flying being done at the regional level, it's going to suck for both parties to change their agreement. It's going to affect the commuters the most but if it goes to a vote, then it's going to be decided by non-commuters who probably don't care about the commuters.

As stated we would probably go to S3C like Craptaco and Skywest. Meaning that it would be more impossible than even now to get on any flight, with the exception of maybe the sweet GTR nap inbound flt or THE RADDEST DESTINATION OF THEM ALL, LOVELY KINSTON NC. You would continue to be a companion at S3 level and knock off DL nonrevs while wearing your jetblue outfit and eating those blue chips.
