I find that type of attitude a sad premonition for the future of your merger with XJT

We like our system for bidding. Why waste negotiating capital to fix what isn't broke?

And that's cool for the CRJ side. It's better than the line bid system the CRJ had, but NOT better than the line bid system that XJT currently uses. The facts have been out, the CRJ PBS is a concession for the ERJ side. So even though the CRJ side like it's because it conforms to the inferior CBA, what makes you think that the almost 3000 ERJ pilots will like it?

They did their due diligence 2 years ago and determined that Flightline was the best vendor for ASA.

ERJ side had to do their due diligence and explore PBS since the CRJ side has it going forward in a JCBA. The REAL question is, did the CRJ side do their due diligence to explore the ERJ line bid/work rule system?

Then dont take my advice. I can give a rat's a$$ if you dont! Anyway, I like to think of myself as our version of JoeMerchant, no offense.;)

Well we do both support the fair tax....

Anyway, I'm glad you posted that letter Nevets...It made me even more sure that I don't want smartpref and I know support my MEC even more.

1. It proves that our MEC did look at smartpref to try and appease your MEC.
2. I wouldn't buy a bottle of water in the middle of the desert from that snake oil salesman....Peoples Express to Continental....really? One thing "gyro" knows how to do is write a whiny letter....
3. Nobody else has bought his system...does he write the same whiny letters to them too?

Thanks for posting.....

They pretended to look at it and used any and all excuses to get out of looking at it any further. Did you MEC run their pairings through smartpref? Did they tell you about all this new research they supposedly did when meeting with these guys back in December? Why not? Because they have nothing to report other than that they only pretended to look at it.

Our MEC looked at it several years ago and looked it at it again in Dec....It doesn't meet our requirements...You are familiar with that statement as I hear it from your side all the time...

This "gyro" guy reminds me of the door to door salesman who comes to my door....or the phone salesman telling me about what a good deal I am passing up....

You didn't answer the questions.

You didn't answer the questions.

Yes I did....You just don't like the answers and you don't understand the dynamic nature of PBS bidding...You will never see real results of a PBS system until it used for real live bidding...I for one don't want to see those results from a system like smartpref....

After seeing the system myself on their own website and using it, then after seeing this whiny letter....I am even more assured of how bad a system it is...

Smart Pref, Flightline, XJT line bidding.... Pick your poison if we don't get control of pairing construction GARBAGE IN = GARBAGE OUT

No, you actually didn't answer my questions. I know your position. I'm talking about your derelict MEC. But I guess they are like you and don't actually want to see the results and rather pretend you did and not communicate with their pilots on why supposedly it's bad.

Tell me, how exactly do you see acurate results without really running a bid? Our parallel bids weren't even accurate because everyone didn't participate.....You never now exactly how it will come out until you use it for real...

The fact that smartpref will take trips away from senior bidders and give them to junior bidders is a non starter over here plain and simple.....Sorry you don't like that but I really don't care...

I know support my MEC even more.

Never thought I'd see the day when you'd type that, Joey. I think you're getting soft in your old age. ;)

I'm just an outside observer here, and I know little about either PBS system, but I think people should listen to Joe on this one a little bit from the strategic point of view. As much as I disagree with him on some issues, the fact of the matter is, Joey has bargaining experience. Those who have spent a lot of time at a bargaining table trying to solve issues know that complete re-writes of agreements are always more difficult and prone to mistakes and errors than just trying to solve smaller issues with existing language, or in this case, an entire bidding system. It's easy to try to correct problems with an existing PBS that you've already used and are familiar with; it's difficult to even know what to negotiate for with a completely new system that no one has ever used before. You're likely to find out after it's already too late that the real life bids don't quite work out like the mock bids did, or like the simulations showed. Then, it's too late to fix unless the company is amenable to opening it up again, and that's unlikely unless you're willing to give them something in return.

Regardless, whatever you guys choose, I wish both pilot groups luck. Mergers are never easy.

You still haven't answered the questions about your derelict MEC. Like I said, I already know hou YOU feel.

Care to elaborate? Who is using it now? How large is the pilot & FA group? What big developments have been made to the software recently?

XJT is their customer. It has been customized in work rules and interface. But I guess your MEC hasn't told you that, right? What have they told you about smartpref? Anithing?

What a whiner. He is blaming the potential customer for his failure to sell his own product....In a written letter no less. Let's see how long that works out for him.

You guys are all focused on the writer and missing the bigger issue.

No, we have seen the bigger issue for the last two years, with smart pref, and we're now bored with it. So now it's time to re-entertain ourselves with the poor business conduct displayed by a whiny salesperson that couldn't close the deal with a terrible product. We're not interested in the turd they buffed. We weren't two years ago when researching PBS systems, and we aren't now.

I'm well aware that XJT is a customer, but they aren't a REAL customer. It isn't being used for the initial bid for thousands of pilots. It is being used for relief lines for hundreds. That simply doesn't count as a representative sample of how the system would work large scale. XJT's small scale sort-the-scraps version hasn't been running real life bids long enough to make any meaningful evaluations.

My MEC told me all of this. They also told me about serious problems with the award algorithms, Crewing Solutions small support infrastructures, user interface issues, and the flawed promise if "live bidding". I will admit that they told me this because I asked and not in any all-pilot communications.

You guys are all focused on the writer and missing the bigger issue.

We aren't missing the big picture. We don't want Smartpref and this letter is really not helping your pathetic cause. Why did you post this and then pull it down on the other boards?

whiny letter and whiny nevets, btw what deal do you have w/ that whiny letter writer? any credibility you had nev, well, it's gone bye bye, you just need to suck it up and quit your endless whining on FI 'cause you ain't changing our "ASA" minds about a turd bidding system created by a whiny owner. Get over it, you lost.

I'm guessing that Capt. Jaros spent the majority of his career with people kissing is a$$ in the left seat. If he had been in sales for 26 years, or even the right seat, he would most certainly have a thicker skin. The PWG's snub ( term used very loosely) would then be a speed bump instead of a personal insult.

Welcome to the real world sir.

Even though you and McPickle want to continue and play the "victim" in the merger of the pilot groups, there are always 3 sides to every story.

As a business person your vendor has shot himself in the foot and has shown the true bias and now I understand why he has not one single airline using his product.

Then dont take my advice. I can give a rat's a$$ if you dont! Anyway, I like to think of myself as our version of JoeMerchant, no offense.;)

In the end, if we stay separate because they cannot come to an agreement on a bidding system, it won't be because of what I ever posted. Just trying to let you guys know that your MEC isn't doing their due diligence. Thought that some may want to know.

Actually they have been doing their due diligence on more than just SmartPref. You just didn't know it.

Give that fag a tissue. Poor baby didn't get to sell his product to an unwilling party, and they didn't say thank you. Who cares. Life sucks. Go have a five dollar footlong and get over it...

Well Nevets, is this the response you were expecting? Where did you get this information? Was this meant to be shared?

I suggest you worry about your own house and let us decide what is right for us. I also wouldn't recommend using this guy as the spokesman for your precious smartpref system.

No wonder he hasn't sold his PBS to anyone yet.

Two years ago is a long time ago when it comes to technology. I assume much has changed in programs since then. Nothing wrong with looking at what's out there.
