While suggestions here regarding machine gun shoots and moto cross and mildly humorous in a tongue in cheek sort of way, I find some of the commentary disturbing, or rather, those making the commentary to be disturbed.

Not half as disturbing as we find those among us that are so tightly wound that they can't take a joke.

yeah I mean we are not doing anything else to make these people mad at us, I don't even fly over my house anymore until we get this straight b/c I dont want to give them anything else to complain about or use against me. And I dont want to get alot of money tied up in this b/c while it would be nice to have, its just not that important. There is a Class D airport with 4300' of concrete that I use now, I just wanted to avoid the 35 minute drive, I mean what is more handy that walking out your back door and getting in your plane? We are also limited to 10 operations per week, so its not like this is going to be a big agervation to these people. Plus I don't really think they have a leg to stand on.

1 operation = either 1 take off or 1 landing... thats a max of 5 flights a week. Or one flight a week with some pattern work


How much would it cost you to actually build/prepare a grass strip?

It is pretty much finished now, just waiting on some grass to grow, and we are about 5000 into it, mostly just all dozer work, taking out trees and filling in some spots. And I got them to agree to an operation was a landing and take off, so 10 landings and 10 takeoffs per week.

I think you should consider writing a nice letter to the editor of your local newspaper, explaining all that you explained here, and all the effort you are taking to be as unobtrusive as possible and the desire to be a good neighbor.

I believe you are correct about no constitutional gaurantee, but I was making an abridged quote from the Declaration of Independence. (I still think he should see how much they are willing to pay him for his losses.)

I think I need a good lawer, I am being sued for having my air strip, some dickfers that live about a mile away figured it would be cool to say that it devalues their proprerty and is a danger to them (We dont even fly over their freaking houses). So they are trying to take my airstrip away from me, they are trying to get the planning and zoning to repeal the approval. Any advise? Seems like a threat to GA to me.
