The union does know about this recall fiasco. It is still probably a good idea to talk to your LEC rep (or anyone rep you have a connection with) and let them know your feelings on this. The more they hear from us, the more "fuel" they have to work with.

Here I was ready to move forward and at least partially forgive the company, but then they go and proove once again that they are willing to disregard the contract and blatantly treat their employees like sh!t, just because they can.

With just a slight adjustment of attitude, mgt. could have easily secured an opening of employee good will. Instead, they are guaranteeing a few more years of pure antagonism. What a bunch of incompetent buffoons.

Where exactly is the company not following the contract in regards to how the recall is going. Are people just pi$$ed because it is a quick recall or are there truely some contract violations occuring. On a side note, there is some bypassing LOA that was just posted on the XJ ALPA website. Last time the compamy screwed the pilots on multi-class, most avro captains are still getting avro pay as we speak. Hopefully the company learned their lesson and will honor the contract when it comes to how the recalled pilots are handled.

Can someone parse the proposed LOA into English for me?

By forcing the majority of recalls into MEM SF3 FO, instead of allowing us to bid into base and equipment, the company is blatantly disregarding the spirit of the bid back provisions which they had previously agreed to. Everyone knows they do not need 150 ADDITIONAL MEM SF3 FO's.

Technically, they appear to be getting away with it. However, it is a screw job, we were supposed to be able to bid back into base and equip, and yes, many are pi$$ed about it. It is absolutely against the spirit of the contract provision.

I just spoke with the scheduling and training dept and they said that ALL 07-01 and 07-02 vacancy awarded pilots will either be in the April 2nd or 9th class depending on the type of training needed.. ie short or long course. That is with exception to the 2 or 3 starters March 26th or so for Indoc. If you call Sandy Linkert in Training she will assist you in finding your training date. 651-367-5000 or ext 5096.
That is all. CYA

The letter for class date I just got in the mail has everyone listed going on April 3 not April 2.... (Long Course mostly returning furloughs, 5 are CA upgrades, 2 are CA transitions returning from furlough off the Avro.)
