How many L-1011s does United still have in service? I think they got those from the PanAm purchase. They are probably a whole lot cheaper to operate on long thin routes than a 747.

They dont even operate the DC-10 anymore...havent for about 5 years. I remember seeing a few pictures of the L-1011 but its been MANY years. It was in the OLD paint scheme too. No more 747-200 or anything..just the 737-300/500, A319/320,747-400, 757-200, 767-200(will be gone soon) 767-300, 777-200. Thats been there fleet since the DC-10 left many years ago and so did the 747-200.

Uh, zero

I think United had some L1011 for a little while in the mid 80's after they bought Pan Am's pacific operation.

Saw a THAI SKY AIRLINES L-1011 the other day.

Never seen a UAL L1011, ever!...Only Tristars of US carriers I've seen are from DL

Well... I was just going to write, "I don't think United ever operated the L-1011," and then I found this:

But, they were apparently short-lived at United. I think the only current U.S. operator of the L-Ten is ATA.
