A retirement check after 20 years may be enough to fill your gas tank and buy a few rounds every month...nothing to get too excited about.

Why sell yourself short? If you fly for a living, demand what your worth! If you feel your worth less, stop flying for everyone's sake.

In fact, get out in the business world and make some real money. You'll feel better about yourself (hopefully) and you'll learn that that government check isn't worth as much as you profess, in more ways than one.

Cheers.

Every time the military gets a pay raise, the retirees get the same raise. It's a pretty sweet deal. That's why I can get drop most of my schedule at SWA and just work when I want to.

Flamebaiting A$$ troll!! I'd like to personally serve you a bottle of beer. Broken bottle..Around the neck region...the bottle neck of course...

Burgundy, I'd rather have you just thank me for something you were too selfish to do....Serve your country. Seeing that you are too ignorant to understand the sacrifice, I'll just assume that's what you meant to say.

Tanker Clown,

STOP advertising your military affiliation, especially waving it around in anyone's face. You tarnish the image of the rest of us. Better yet, stop posting here entirely. I'm quite certain that those in your unit can't wait until you leave - I know I can't, and I've never even met you.....

Thank you for your service......now shut the fu@k up!

Dude.....read the post about the AA guys that gave huge pay cuts in bad times and got squat when they turned a profit. Your time will come and your attitude will change.

AA guys are still some of the highest paid and they got their pensions in return for their pay cuts. If it wasn't for the genius of Arpey they very well may have entered Bankruptcy or even liquidated.
God bless Arpey.

I wouldn't call surfing kiddie porn websites while sitting behind a desk, and cleaning the head "serving your country." But if that makes you feel better cupcake, then have at it.

I surely hope you are not serious! The extent of managements genius is to come to labor with their hands out looking for concessions! Anyone could have done that, and AA management ends up splitting nearly 400 million dollars amongst 200 people in 2006. Don't you think it's the pilots turn to get their some of their money back?
