Alert!!!! New Avantair Definition

Hard Interview = Most Unprofessional interview I have ever been through

By the way I work at Avantair

I did not mean anything mean to AftCG it's just that he is happy to be in aviation. A true statement is not an insult.

You're a better man than me, Waco...

Okay,

For the record...most Avantair guys are stable. We don't want people to kill themselves for seniority sake.

Also, I get home on day seven 90% of the time. Very seldom do I get the call pleading me to stay on, and even then I'm asked...not told. At $500 for a day of OT I usually say, "yes" and it's no big deal. Again, most of the time I'm home on day 7 with no problem unless I ask for more.

I have NEVER EVER EVER "fudged" duty times. When I show up I show up and that time sticks.

Paying FSI? They get paid. Let's not forget who owns FlightSafety. 'nuff said.

I do not fly "broken" airplanes. I have NEVER EVER EVER been told to fly a broke plane. When it breaks I write it up and some guy in greasy clothes shows up and fixes it.

I'd question why someone as disgruntled as NJT916 would stay if he's really employed at such a "bad place". All I know is this is the best job I've ever had and I look forward to many years here.

Fly Safe.

holding my tongue, holding my tongue... why do these same guys keep coming back with new screen names but the same negativity. For years they hold a grudge, for years they just cant let it go. Fractional is not for everybody. Its harder than most flight jobs and some guys just cant handle all that it takes to be good at it. Get over it.

crap, i let go of my tongue, holding it again...

then do us all a favor at Avantair and kill yourself, I need to move up the seniority list anyway......smuck!

Some of that wonderful Avantair Corporate Culture shining through!

Here are some Avantair positives to show you im not all negative.

95% of the owners are great
The Avanti II rocks especially with the new engines
Getting lots of Points from hotels and Airline miles is great

Well, those are certainly positive since you could be furloughed like so many other aviators these days. Time to look on the positive side of things... Sure, Avantair probably has a host of growth-related issues and it doesn't pay as well as Netjets, but it certainly could be a worse situation for many of us - the prospect of impending furlough... There are worse things than zipping around in an Avanti II.

Wow. I seem to be taking these breaks from flightinfo more frequently these days, and every time when I return, I browse the posts, only to be amazed and horrified by what I see.

Every day I say aloud how grateful I am for this gig. This week, I've enjoyed a couple of overnights courtesy of our neighbors to the North. Last night Toronto, tonight, Muskoka. Lots of great flying in between.

Reading NJT916's posts, one would be lead to believe that pilots are powerless, whining complainers. Well, we aren't. Some of us that were not satisfied with the professional arrangements in our careers made changes. We ended up at Avantair as a result. We didn't just sit around and complain about how bad things are, nitpicking at every opportunity.

NJT916, I didn't think that fvck$ticks of your caliber could ever work here. Somehow you must have slipped through the cracks. If you don't like it here... LEAVE. Or keep complaining. Try reading your posts some time. I'm embarrassed for you.

Thanks to the people that posted in my defense.

NJT916 you should just hate yourself because the best you can do is Avantair. Sucks for you to hate life so much.

Avantair hasnt been perfect but it has been fair and the best place I have worked in this industry.

AftCG182 is brainwashed. The guy got fired for yelling at an IOE Captain at his previous job.

Check your facts. It's no secret that Republic let me go after needing more time in their IOE. I disclosed that in my interview, they were ok with it.

Again, I was let go because I didn't complete IOE. NOT because I yelled at an IOE Captain. Avantair's management reads these boards, genius. Don't put my job in jeapordy.

If you have a problem with me, handle it through the appropriate channels, not a public message board.

Blah, blah, blah,,, Avantair sucks,,,blah, blah, blah,,,
All hail NetJets, Blah,,, blah, blah,,,
Newsflash for all you comedians slamming on Avantair, NetJets was far from a utopia when they were only 5yrs old. How quickly you all forget. Seems to me, pilots were paying for their own type ratings back in the day at NJA. It wasn't until what, 3 years ago that NJ pilots started getting paid a kings ransom. Now a bunch (by all means not all) trot around with their noses so high in the air that they run the risk of drowning in a rain storm. For those of you that work here, Y'all knew what you were getting into so STFU! Instead, strive to make this place better.

Rant off!

I need another tie pin, too. Left mine at the Chateau L'Avantair (Holiday Inn Select/PIE) a couple of tours ago. Got any more left?

Next time we fly, I'll trade you one for 5, no, make that 6 overspeeds!
Per day...

deleted... what was I thinking... I might have mainiac for my IOE Captain after I upgrade... nevermind...

I still want another tie pin, though...

I am not bashing, just asking a question.

Are you guys still getting Phenom Jets? What is this all about? Just wanted your input. Thanks.

Rock On!

Avantair Sells Phenom Positions To Executive AirShare Central U.S. regional fractional provider Executive AirShare (EAS) last week signed an agreement to acquire 18 Embraer Phenom 100 delivery slots from Clearwater, Fla.-based Avantair, which offers shares in Piaggio Avanti twin turboprops. EAS also has an option to buy Avantair’s two remaining Phenom 100 positions. The move ends Avantair’s plans for the 20 very light jets, which the company ordered in October 2006. Under the deal, which was sanctioned by Embraer, EAS now has firm orders for 28 Embraer Phenom 100s and four Phenom 300s, with options on 12 more 100s and four more 300s. EAS’s first Phenom 100 will be delivered next June, 14 months earlier than the company’s original order for the VLJ. According to EAS chairman and CEO Robert Taylor, the deal will allow Avantair to focus on building its national program, while EAS can more quickly “expand our regional fractional program into new markets.” Kansas City, Mo.-based EAS currently operates four Beechjet 400As, five King Air 350s, five King Air C90Bs and a Beech Baron. The Beechjets are likely to be phased out after the Phenom 100s arrive, a company spokesman told AIN.

You know just as much as we do.

My guess from day one is that we were not going to see them.

There is good and bad with this deal for the pilots. I believe we (the company) are going to make some money from the sale of the positions. This will make for better long term stability. Yet we are not getting the growth.

At some point we will get another aircraft type. Who knows what that will be.. Just my $ .02

Take Care,

celloman

Thats not good.

Thats not good.

On the contrary, Avantair is doing well with the P180 in terms of sales - it's a hit with owners. Why increase complexity with another aircraft type that costs more to operate and is less capable than the Avanti? Focus is probably better in this case.

Bingo! Our Piaggio sales are strong, to say the least. Another insightful comment, Rod. How's it going, anyway?

Hey guys,

I wanna say thanks for all of the info on this thread. I've been looking into Avantair for a while and I think I finally might have enough time to stick a resume in (barely). Can anyone tell me if I have a shot in the dark with the following?

TT 1900
ME 400
SIC Jet 300

I currently work for a 121 regional, but fractional is where I wanna be...

Thanks!
