NWA Sells DCA-MKE On Midwest...

I'm a Gold Elite customer on NWA and I have redeemed miles through NWA's web site where I ended up flying on Midwest's 717s, RAH's Midwest-badged E175s and Skywest's CRJs (connecting GRB) in 2009.

I haven't checked another board I visit occasionally (www.flyertalk.com) to see what the latest news is about NW/DL integrating their back-end IT/ticketing/FF systems. Last time I visited, speculation was by the beginning of Q3 2009. I suspect that once they do, you will start seeing DL selling award seats on Midwest.

As a Wisconsin native, I am very disappointed to see what's happened to MidEx. Thanks Timmeh!

Management hires teams of people who are paid to think out creative ways to save money. If DAL continues to codeshare with Midwest, and Midwest chooses to contract out 100+ seat flying, then I would say the penny pinchers at DAL did their jobs. The one downside to CBA's is that they are stagnant and predictable for defined time periods. You agree to a contract, and the company then has years to find loopholes. RAH management may be trying to exploit this particular scope loophole. The ONLY options are to either get an LOA passed protecting scope via codeshare partners' outsourced flying (which will likely cost DAL pilots.... what are YOU willing to pay), or to wait for your next shot at section 6. It is frustrating to be let down by the very contract you and your coworkers fought so hard for. Our contract has failed us, too. But the truth is, YOU aren't going to take any illegal job action to prevent this round about loss of scope, and neither are RAH pilots. If Midwest's pilots strike, then we won't fly the struck work. our contract gives us that much. But, your scope does not seem to restrict the size of a codesharing airline's regional aircraft, and our scope of course allows for expansion.

The legal objection RAH pilots had to doing the Midwest flying disappeared when Midwest decided to not go ahead with their plans (if it ever was really the plan) to dry lease the RAH 170's. Our scope did not allow for a dry lease in this case. Now there will be no dry lease.

You can't blam that one on the RAH pilot group. If they(managment) is finding a loophole in mainline scope that is error that mainline unions and pilot groups made. Not the RAH pilots. I don't want to have to fly the thing but I really don't have a chose now.

Did you guys not get the memo? RAH is now the defacto domestic carrier for DAL! All the 9's and 80's are going to the desert and they will buy 100's of these 190s to fly around as a "code share". 1000's of DAL pilots will be out and RAH will hire 1000's young ready to go cheap labor to fly a cool new big plane. I don't care if they only pay $23 an hour I'm happy to be flying!

It is sad and probably will happen, it's just a matter of time! This country revolves around cheap, Walmart, dollar stores and you know....you buy stuff made in fricken China that last 2 months, so I can buy it again. Planned obsolescence sucks!!!!
