Want an effective way to deal with Horton and his compensation: JUST LIQUIDATE the airline!

That's a possibility. AMR is too big for another huge airline to take over without antitrust problems so maybe the answer is multiple airlines taking pieces of AMR. It's a long-shot but that's one possibility. It all depends on what gives the creditors the best return. Plenty of other carriers would like to have various parts of AMR. There are people waiting in the wings to see what happens and when the time is right they will emerge from the shadows with their plans.
