Better profit margins and less capital required to sell greasy chicken wings and beer. Hooters got involved mostly for marketing purposes but they probably didn't realize how much money they could lose. Hopefully Pace will find some flying to replace Hooters if things go sour. Anyone know what percentage of Pace's flying is performed for Hooters?

God that Bill Siebrt is so smart! Where did he come up with the idea that Hooters is on the ropes due to LCC competition and fuel coasts? Please, I hope he doesn't get paid for all of his wisdom.

Another failed Airline Exec. I'm guessing?

Hooters Air was stupid idea, similar to Song. Some schmuck in marketing came up with a lame brain idea and the Board bought off on it. Let them all fall in the flames.

Dude, what are you talking about, Hooters was a sweet idea, probably the best ever. Big breasted women in skimpy outfits serving you chicken wings and beer, while you are flying to las vegas? I don't think you can beat that.

The idiots should have talked to Donald Trump. When he owned the Trump Shuttle in the early 90's he almost sheit his pants when he had to lay out $350,000 a pop to outfit the 727's in the shuttle fleet with TCAS. These clowns don't have clue one as to what it takes to run an airline from an operational perspective nor the costs involved. Whats that old adage?
"How do you make a millin dollars in aviation?? Start off with 2 million!!"

PHXFLYR:cool:

Hooters is shutting down. Lost a lot of 737 pilots earlier this year. Pace is still running VE, sports jet and some Thomas cook contracts in ths 757. Hooters 757 and all the 737-300's went bye bye earlier this month. Does not look good for 757 or 737. Thomas Cook jets leave soon. More jobless pilots to come unless buyer or contracts come up. It is a shame that the only Etops 757 was turned in. At this point if a contract comes up,there is no plane to use on it. Looks like the hooters just got smaller.

By the way, I would hardly call Hooters a major. They fly big jets, so what! Maybe post under general.

my wife had a good point.

They had FA's AND hooters girls.

Imagine how stupid the hooters girls are that they can't even become an FA?

Just like hearing the line, "i'm going to college." as they are on the pole.

Ha-Ha! That's my pet peeve, too. They never come out and say, "Hey-would-you-just-give-me-everything-in-your-wallet-so-I-can-take-it-back-to-my-trailer-and -give-it-to-my-crack-head-boyfriend-who-treats-me-like-dirt-and-I-love-it?"

No, they always talk some crap about "working their way through law school" or some other B.S. . . . . It's almost as boring as listening to Uppercrud talk about how he has a pilot job.

The product worked. our planes were full twice a day out of EWR with wild eyed yankee golfers and old people and some families. Mr. Brooks didn't understand the principle of critical mass and fixed costs in running his company. We needed to have had 25 to 30 planes flying to and from Myrtle and vegas. Allegiant is doing this well. We didn't jump on Southeasts' old routes when went it tits up.

We are not dead yet. The company has a great reputation in the charter marketplace.

Pundits can scoff and spin and spew vomit if they wish, but at the end of the day , hooters air was just another example of how rich guys become stupid (or they take dumb pills) when they get around airplanes.

Eyeh8flt: please spare me the thread police. I mean really!!!!!!!!!!!

Pace just recieved their Part 145 repair station license. As a company with value, to have a 121,145 and ETOPs under their belt, there is value in what it is worth. the mechanics are some of the finest boeing ex piedmont, ex us air , in the world.

True, but there are a lot of good people at Pace, that once worked at a "Major".

“Big breasted women in skimpy outfits serving you chicken wings and beer, while you are flying to las vegas?”

Hmm, big breasted yes but as a former boob-pilot I don’t remember us serving chicken wings? we had chicken wraps, etc, though.

I had a great time while there and must say they have some of the nicest folks working in the industry, pilots, fa’s, mx, trng dept is awesome, chief pilot Bruce ROCKS, the acp is a great guy too, heck even scheduling was good to me, how often can you say that? Of course, our schedules usually sucked :( but it wasn’t schedulers fault - they'd bend over backwards trying to make your life easier. Oh yeah, almost forgot - hooters girls were great too :)

Anyway, wish the very best to all my friends over there!!!

Sincerely, av80r

We always say that the rich guy was stupid and should have known better/ What Brooks says is that this business does not operate like other businesses and he is not smart enough to figure it out.

Sounds to me he is plenty sharp

At a stressful time like this, it is important for all of us to support Hooters.

I, for one, will join you in lending a hand (or two) to help support Hooters, if it's not too late.

Inflated figures always have a way of creating a short term rise followed by a sudden decline. Perhaps they can head this off before it's too late.

Reverse sensing,

it's not too late, could i borrow your hands, to hold my sac, i need your support.

I don't know why you think I'd want to hold your "sac". If that's your thing, that's your business. Why "out" yourself here?

All kidding aside (cause I guess some dudes can't cope with it), l don't wish the uncertainty of furlough/job loss/income loss on anyone. If you thought that's what I was making light of, you are wrong, but I apologize if I gave anyone that impression.

Sad if they do go away.

I didn't realize they were taking it in the shorts.

Reverse Sensing,

No offense taken, just having fun.

The humor is good. i laughed all the time while we flew 'em.
if i could capture the essense of the experience. picture about 80 out of 148 pax in Newark, hammered at 830 in the morning, screamin at the top of the lungs during the cabin briefing, even with the cockpit door closed.

I thought we had a flying bachelor party going on all the time
