Help w JetBlue interview

Sorry I can't answer your question about the prep, but I wanted to throw out this question. Has anyone heard when the next interviews are being held? I heard Jan 9th or so...but has any applicants been notified for an interview coming up?

I don't think the prep is important. Just be yourself. The prep will hurt you with the canned answers. Get the gouge and you will be fine.

All the interview questions are tell me a time when? Just start thinking of stories about good and bad things that have happened with your career thus far. Use CRM, working well and not so well with others etc. Know specific things about jetBlue. Relax and be yourself and you will do great, they do their best to make you feel at ease.

I don't think the prep is important. Just be yourself. The prep will hurt you with the canned answers. Get the gouge and you will be fine.

Here are things that you think about with solid background from your flying experience.

1 Describe the situation

2 Explain what actions you to to address the event

3 explain what the out come was.

Always place an emphasis on going over and above for your co workers or the customers.

They have it down to a science and know if you are full of BS.. The worst impression that you can give is one of being mr top gun pilot with 10 type ratings and can fly any airplane anytime anywhere with your eyes closed.

They want to know that you fit their corporate culture of customer service.

Plus smile and say please and thank you. It will go a long way...


Things to think about:

A time you addressed a customer complaint
A time you worked with a coworker to implement a safety improvement at your company
A time you forgot something
What you do on duty besides flying
What do you know about Jet Blue
Have you flown on a jet blue flight tell us about it.
A time you had a technical error
A time you made a mistake regarding a schedule or handling of a customer problem.
your shining moment story

etc etc..

I just read the gouge online went through my logbook talked to my friends about situation from the past and prepared myself for the interview.

It was a great experience and true class act corporation. Guys can bash Jb all they want but the reality is that this is an exceptional opportunity..

I think you will find, however, that "Albie" ain't the only good coach in the house. My team also offers several other guys and gals who have proven very effective (including Melissa, my bride). I've bragged on my team before, so for now I'll keep quiet--but they are outstanding folks.

If you dont' want to use Emerald Coast, there are other good services out there too. Big thing I recommend is GET RECOMMENDATIONS. A good coach won't turn you into a mindless robot, but will help you do YOUR best. A little research will show you who can do that for you.

I think you will find, however, that "Albie" ain't the only good coach in the house. My team also offers several other guys and gals who have proven very effective (including Melissa, my bride). I've bragged on my team before, so for now I'll keep quiet--but they are outstanding folks.

I didnt personally spend the $400 to get ready for the interview BUT many will argue ( especially emerald coast) that the $400 you spend on prep is a small price to pay for a career placement at a company like Jet Blue. My understanding is that the fee is refundable if you do make phase 2..

Heck with the green $$$$ these interview preps are pulling in and a 90% success rate they can practically finance the legacies and make the prep a mandatory requirement for employment!!!

Hey Waterski,

Only you know if you need the prep or not. I personally did not use the prep and did just fine. I'm sure I wasn't perfect, but then again who is.

Have real stories about your career or anything in your life ready to discuss. They WILL KNOW if it's a real story or not by how you deliver it and how you respond to followup questions later.

If the prep gives you more confidence, then go for it. Like I said, only you know.

A good firm handshake and looking the interviewers right in the eye when talking to them goes a long way as well.

The best advice is to be yourself. My opinion was that no course could teach me that. If I can't do that by my age, then JetBlue didn't need me working there anyway.

Which ever way you go, good luck to you and feel free to ask any question you need on this board.

Have a few good questions ready for them as well. Remember every name you come in contact with. Write them down.
