Military guys going to Gulfstream???? I call BS on that one.

There have been many military pilots who have gone to 3M. Many 1,500hr wonders got their ATPs up at Craig Field and then cut a cheque for $15k to be captains there on a C402 or 1900. Many more went in as F/Os. People paid for time in both seats technically. Not all were tactical pilots. There were KC135, E6, and Herc pilots who paid for employment or hours down at the 'Stream. They've got it all. Why anyone would stay is beyond me

The infidels that pay for a 3M seat ride are bringing this industry down to the lowest level. When you see them, remind them their personal money will not get them respect among their peers in the industry and will not help on the fast track to a shiny Boeing.

I'd rather hire a banner tow pilot than a PFT goochy pilot.

Ummmm, because we are professional pilots who, by definition, make our living flying planes. It is a direct assault on our livelihoods when others PAY to do what we do for a living.

It's infinitely worse than undercutting our pay! This isn't cheap foreign labor taking American jobs. At least I can wrap my head around that.

This is selfish pilots trying to bypass the system at the expense OF the system AND fellow pilots. It has nothing to do with skill or talent or anything noble. It's just "I have money so screw you!".

Why would anybody PAY an employer?! A company that gets revenue from it customers AND employees. That's just great...

Not sure why you don't understand this. It's a very simple concept. Maybe you are dumb. Have you looked into that?

In all seriousness, how is a company unable to remain solvent that has long-established ASA & codeshare agreements with Continental/United/Copa, skimp on about everything under the sun (to include auto parts), AND have about 40% of their pilots PAYING huge $$ to be there.

When I learned they were bankrupt, I was dumbfounded (due to factors referenced above). It almost makes you wonder if someone is/was skimming off the top.

Not to stir up anything, but while we're on the subject of "dumb" I should point out here that a PAID employer is, by definition, not an employer...it's a contradiction in terms, like "free rent"...rent, by definition cannot be "free"...just sayin'...

It's the South Forida way. Their money skimming/laundering operations. Half the air executives there are convicted felons or are waiting for pending cases against them.

Start a company that one has lots of experience with.
Instead of a doughnut shop, try applying it to a professional message board operator/moderator, unpaid, slamming GIA and PFT at every opportunity.
Include classes about denial and coping with stagnant jobs.
