You will use the boom mike, unless you are doing HALO above 10000', then you will use the mask.
 
No matter how hard you try, your probably won't be able to get rid of that helmet...so make sure it fits real nice....those hot spots can be pain after a few hours......especially when you add a set of NVG's on top of them.....and for the issue stuff, you'll get things you won't even use........but were put on the list years ago, and are still there.......
 
All the stuff the military issues is good and tough. Like the other day, I lost my checklist out the window... it dented the sponson on the helo, but was fully intact when I saw it hit the water about 50 feet from some folks on the beach. Built Ford Tough.

Airstairs are only required if we have pax. It'd be pretty ugly to see the ORFs fall 20 feet to the ground using the normal crew entrance stand.
