Quick hiring Captians. These detials from another post:

Currently operating as United Express with 3 CRJ-700's, 6 by the end of OCT, and 10 by Jan 2006. ALPA just wants them to be ALPA to get their 2%. Currently assigned to Local 618 with the IBT:
http://www.teamster.org/divisions/airline/airlineorganizing.htm
http://www.teamsterslocal618.org/news-and-events.html

ALPA has filed a single carrier petition, so whether it be the IBT or ALPA, they will be union. If ALPA wins single carrier, “high unlikely” in ALPA's own words, GJ would still have its own MEC, SEN LIST, and CBA.

Currently 60 pilots. 20 more in 1 week. The TSA pilot's had their 3rd opportunity to control the GJ flying, with an LOA, that they voted down 2 weeks ago. The company has said there will be no more offers and began to hire again. More TSA pilots are coming over with each class. They will hire 20 per month for till 1st quarter. They have options on 40 more CRJ 700/900's

Background of the pilots is wide, mostly high time, people that left other regionals (ASA, AE, SKYWAYS, ACA, CorpEX), furloughed Major Pilots, some freight, retired MIL, very very wide backgrounds, but mostly prior 121 background. Several in the 1st 2 classes have been hired already at other ALPA carries. (1 CAL and 2 to World Airways).

Most the bad mouth on here is from TSA guys. Other is from pissed off AirWis guys. Why the AirWI guys are angry at GJ I don't know? Most of AirWI flying has NOT been lost to GJ but to MESA and SKYWEST(Non-Union). I guess ALPA has made an easy target out of GJ, but MESA and SKYWEST have hurt AirWI MUCH MUCH MORE. GJ just started to flying into O’Hare 2 days ago. MESA and SKYWEST have been there for months.

Anyway, they will have about 100 pilots at years end, and if they take their other 40 options they will add about 400 more. More info: http://g*jetairlines.com You will have to replace the * with an o.

Thanks for the info. Have you got any Jets for Jobs pilots from UA yet?

WARNING FOR THOSE WHO ARE BLOCKING TRANSMISSIONS ON FREQ.

I have a friend that is a controller at ORD and I asked him if he was having any problems. He proceeded to tell me that with the NWA mechanics strike going on the FCC has placed trucks around the field to pinpoint which aircraft it is comming from.

I would not suggest doing anything other than professional radio talk.

Hey FuelFlow,

Why no response to the comment about you all doing 5 day trips for credit time? Is it true? Come on....you're always defending that wonderful airline of yours...lets hear it.

There's the solution!!!

WOW, real mature comment there buddy!!!!!:erm: I'd hate to hear some CVR's from Corp or 135 crashes. I flew both 121 and 135/91, and can tell you that the EXACT same level of professionalism exists in both worlds!!!! You do your job, have a great time (whatever it consists of that day), and go home. Not one area of aviation is more professional than the other!!! The situations are different and people do different things to show their emotions. I remember when old, mature NJ pilots were going to "blacklist" 135 carriers that did "their" trips. What the hell was that all about??? Is that really professionalism???

No sir, the only thing immature were the "pilots" on that flight... My statement was in the context of pointing out the sandbox B.S. that vocal idiot RJ pilots like to engage in when in reality they are all guilty of similar crimes against the profession..

The pilots of the PCL flight (may God have mercy on them) were a disgrace to us all not only in their words, but in their actions. It's indeed unfortunate that they had to pay for it with their lives, yet unbelievably fortunate for the regional pilots that it didn't happen with paying pax on board. If that were the case hiring low timers would have come to a screeching halt and it's debatable as to whether PCL would still have an operating certificate..

On my airplane's CVR you'll hear lots of light hearted conversation among the two of us but with strict adherance to SOP. We won't be swapping seats enroute, mashing rudder pedals side-to-side, flying outside of the performance envelope, and there will be minimal use of the term "dude". Those guys were on a "suicide mission... " And that's a quote from some of the folks at Bombardier.

I agree that there's idiots everywhere...

furthermore, tell the rampers to make sure none of the bags that go on GJ flights make it to thier destination, ,let the lack of customer service <edit> GJs....as a veteran ramper it is easy to make this happen with no "paper trail"

..but as a pilot I would much rather see some g0 jets sellout get his <edit> kicked and humilitated in front of many than two planes coliding and getting people hurt
Hey,
Its talk like this that is so disturbing, sending bags that belong to customers to wrong destinations is immature. Now sending that deadheading/commuting BlowJet crewmembers flight bag to Bangkok would be just as wrong, but alot funnier!
PBR
P.S. Just laughin' out loud

Simply not true. It is impossible to "pinpoint" which aircraft a transmission is coming from, using that technique. There are ways to figure out where transmissions are coming from, but I highly doubt the FCC has the manpower and technology to do it. Nice scare tactic though.

This thread should be required reading for anyone considering an aviation career. It shows the kind of childish attitudes that have taken over. Attitudes that allow justification of unsafe and unprofessional operations within the aircraft because of what goes on OUTSIDE the aircraft. All the petty, infantile crap should end when the door closes folks and you should act like trained professionals, not high school kids.

This kind of behavior has been going on for 30 plus years. The same kind of behavior prevails during strikes and other work slow downs. Pilots are pilots and emotion often plays a part. I am granting permission, just implying that this stuff is not new. It has nothing to do with age. I have heard old guys in IAH doing unspeakable things over the radio, anyway, carry on.

According to the TSA VARS Msg....Sounds like the FAA and FCC are busting and blamming the TSA Pilots for the freq problems......

Allright for those of you all flamed up over this. What if I was riding the jumpseat, transmitting on COMM3 while the crew was doing whatever on their radios. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

frankly, if I found out you were doing that, you'd be in jail after you got out of the hospital.

For now, you can spend the next 3 days in the penalty box for the removed content in this post.

Our tentative agreement does not allow for 5 day trips, although they can be approved on a month by month basis by the scheduling committe if they meet certain parameters. Some of our commuting pilots have specifically asked for them, but we will not give a blanket approval without a trip rig or some control over building pairings, which I don't see happening. You guys have 5 day trips too for your commuting pilots - It's a 2 day and a 3 day trip back-to-back.

Until the CBA is signed, realistically the company can do what they want, although right now most guys are getting 3-4 days off at a time. That includes pay, and right now CrewTrac shows our credit time equal to actual block, although I'm sure the company will pay scheduled block as long as they have to negotiate with us. That I just don't know yet.

This is not a scare tactic. Why dont you test it and tell me how it works. The tower supervisor told all the controllers to mind their language as well.

Please tell me why you think I would be using this as a scare tactic?

PS. I was just giving a friendly warning.

CrewTrac shows your credit time equal to block time because IT'S THE SAME PROGRAM TSA USES. The lines between these companies are so blurred, they cannot even change the parameters of Sabre's CrewTrac.

You have a TA? Whatever . . .

I suggest you try that.......that way the Captain of the flight you are getting a free ride on could pay the price for YOUR actions.

You all need to grow up and knock this crap off. I have no dog in the fight, but would suggest the following.

Try to be a professional.....fly the jet the way you are supposed to......keep your passengers safe and happy......wear your uniform with pride....(In other words, no more blue dockers and black tennis shoes.) and for goodness sakes.....

Stop blaming other pilots for your "problems". I wish the airline that I flew for had the problems the regional pilots have. (growing by a factor of three and flying jets they couldn't dream of flying in the past and making more money than ever before.)

And before you flame me, did you really think you were going to make $100K for flying a 50 seat jet?

A350
