I got hired at tranny and Southwest. Does that mean - I interview well?

tranny interview had a sim ride with it located at Air, Inc. and was really low key event. I swear we were talking about beer and what beer I would drink on a layover. Then the two dudes interviewing me starting talking about Southwest Airlines and how much money they just made in the recent quarter. (I was thinking to myself, yep I'm going to be talking to them next week!!!)

Bingo bango....... Now we are gonna be one happy Family! I luv it.

We will be glad to call you out on it Ty. give us your real name and we will look it up. (yeah, that will happen)

Basically, we have what we have and we don't want to lose it.
I completely understand because, believe it or not, I feel the same way. As an 8th year CA, I have a pretty nice setup. I'm a Sim Instructor and do some development work (I was full time AQP until 9/27) and all that will surely go away with this deal and I will be just another number. I hope you understand that there are pilots on both sides who are concerened about the outcome and its not simply a one sided windfall.

Mine's a '66 vert, 462 KRE Dports, SD "Old Faithful" hydraulic roller, ported aluminum tripower, ported carbs, tremec tko600 5 speed, moser 12 bolt......

It was a complete basket case when I bought it, and spent almost 9 years restifying it. It's mostly street driven, but I do take her down the track a few times a year. It runs high 7's in the 1/8 when I can get it to hook......
Jeez Louise, that's a bad ride. I'm on year 3 of my Resto.

Please.... call me out on it. You're mistaken. I never completed a SWA application.

Probably didn't have the 1000 hours of turbine PIC at the time. Then you got comfy, upgraded and didn't feel like starting over.

Nothing wrong with that.

Gup

You forgot the part about not updating my logbook since 2001

I am not sure the point of speculating on any part of this merger/acquisition but...out of sheer boredom...i have been reading these comments and with no vitriol intended, i was wondering what the 717/737 seniority dynamic is at AAI?

IMHO: SWA likes the 717 and will use it in the smaller markets (think the Texas two step)...SWA is getting 737-800 and will use them in ATL....so 717's may migrate out of the ATL area to be replaced with 737-800's...SWA does not like to spend money...so to keep training cost down the SWA 717's will be operated by "prior AAI" 717 pilots...

With all that said (and it is PURELY Speculation), will the AAI 717 bid senior or junior leading up to the SLI??

If I was on the 737, I would stay on it. I can see the 6 leg a day west coast and texas two step going to some if not all of the 717's. I do see some tall fences on the 717, to help keep cost down.
